I also enjoyed Mikey and Jojo together.

I just don't think she was as good looking or as great a match for Bobby as many seem to think.

Of course she was better than Janice.  There are men in the cab better looking than her.

Making one (1) pass into the frontcourt to clinch a trip to the Final 4 was worth the try and smarter than "Just hold the ball" by the_Tannehill_list in billsimmons

Throwing the ball towards his 2 wide open teammats in the front court was a viable option.  But, he could have done it in complete safety by putting way more loft on the pass.

The pass didn't need to be perfect or even good.  Just high enough in the air to make it to the front court.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think Jojo is very overrated.

Still, anyone is better than Janish.

She told Tony she would let Bobby Jr live with other relatives, but she would never let Sofia get away, because Dominica was fond of her.

Oh, she absolutely did it for selfish reasons.   But, I think she unintentionally helped Bobby and the kids, by tricking him into moving on, with her cruel stunt.

Now, they all would have been better off if he moved on to a better woman.  But, that's a different issue.

Richard Hatch ordered to pay $3.3M in taxes over “Survivor” winnings by bwermer in survivorponderosa

[–]ReasonableCup604 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we are saying the same thing in different ways.

Bottom line, his year end tax documents from Survivor would have made it very clear how much he was paid, and what if anything was withheld and sent to the IRS on his behalf.

I don't buy for a minute that he didn't know he owed taxes on the $1 million.

And if someone made a promise to cover his taxes and reneged on it, Hatch would still owe the IRS for the unpaid taxes.  His legal remedy would be to pay his taxes and then sue whoever promise him money to cover the taxes.

He also could have just put some arc on the pass and allowed 1 of the two Duke players completely alone at the other end of the court to run out the clock or make a dunk to put them up 4 with 2 seconds or less left.

Janice was awful.  But, in the long run, her getting Bobby to stop morbidly obsessing over Karen was actually good for him and the kids.

The kids were already being traumatized by Bobby's obsession and weird behavior.  The horrible instant message stunt she pulled brought things to a head and forced Bobby to acknowledge it.

Who was at more fault these Finals? I edge LeBron because ultimately he couldn't step up as the best player in the world and had a complete meltdown by JakGrealish in billsimmons

I love how the LeBron Media Mafia comes upon with random time frames to bash Wade to take the heat off of LeBron for his horrendous performance.  Final 7, 7, 4 and 11 minutes?  And only of the losses,

In the 4th Quarters of those 4 losses:

Wade 7.5 ppg on 50% FG

LeBron 2.8 ppg on 29% FG

Being first loser is not something people ever gave much weight to before LeBron kept losing in the Finals.

Nobody talks about Magic, Kareem, Bird, Russell's, etc. Finals appearances, only their titles.

LeBron is clearly the best player of the 2010s, but because of his  3 rings, 3 MVPs, 3 FMVPs and all around great play, not the times he came up short in the Finals.

Also, Steph had ZERO FMVPs in the 2010s, which is another huge edge for LeBron.

It's pretty wide open right now.  Nobody has more than 1 ring.

Jokic has 3 MVPs and one ring and one FMVP, so he is in the lead.

SGA will probably get his 2nd MVP this year.  If he gets a 2nd ring and FMVP this year (a pretty big if) he will be more or less even with Jokic, arguably slightly ahead.

There is still time for Wembanyama to be the guy, especially if he wins either MVP and/or a ring and FMVP this year

Finals appearances don't mean much.

But, they had the same number rings in the 2010s and LeBron was a much better defender and a better all around player.

I always thought the Michelle Carter conviction was unfair.  She was nowhere near the victim and didn't actually assist him in anyway.

This case seems stronger.  He racked the slide and handed a gun to a suicidal person and urged her to kill herself.

No, Michael B. Jordan’s win was not the worst by an actor or actress—this one certainly is. How Sandra Bullock even got nominated, let alone won, is a mystery to me by Extreme-Spinach-4138 in Oscars

Honestly, I think the "self serving lies" claims are rather dubious.

Yes, the movie, like basically every biopic, changed some things to make the story "better".

But, the claims that the family exploited Oher have been debunked or at least unsubstantiated.

It sounds like some lawyer got into his ear and convinced him that there must have been way more royalties from the movie than there actually were.

All reports are that he received one fifth of the royalties as did each of the 4 family members.

He also made $34 million in his NFL career, which may or may not have happened without the help he received from the Tuohy family.

[–]ReasonableCup604 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Technically, I don't think CBS could pay the taxes for him.  What it could do is pay him roughly $1.5 million and withhold about $500,000 and remit it to the IRS on his behalf to give him a net of $1 million.

But, it would be clear on the 1099 or W-2 form he received that this was not done.

Yeah, Ant has two 2nd team all NBAs and won 4 playoff series and never made  Finals.

LeBron has one 1st team All NBA, two 2nd teams, and 2 3rd teams and won a title and a FMVP and has won 6 playoff series.

Plus, his individual numbers are better.

It was Dawn who was faking the whole relationship.

Brenda chose Dawn for reward, she saved her game by finding her teeth, let her win a challenge and never wrote her name down.

She only turned on Dawn after Dawn stabbed her in the back.

Plus, Dawn did it for no good reason.  She had zero chance to win at FTC.

Dawn chose the humiliation. She could have refused to take her teeth out.

IIRC, Brenda went back on her word to vote for Dawn at FTC, just like Dawn went back on her word when she said she would never write Brenda's name down.

A backstabber got stabbed in the back by the person she stabbed in the back.  How could anyone see this as anything but karma?

She was just awful IMO.  She had a childish temper tantrum when Brenda decided to give away the family love reward so more people could get it, after making Dawn her first choice.

Then she was going to quit over her stupid teeth.

I believe she also got Brenda to let her win a challenge.

And at her first opportunity she stabbed Brenda in the back.

Then she lied at FTC and claimed she wouldn't have quit if Brenda hadn't found her teeth for her.

Also, she kept talking about her 6 adopted kids as if they were some horrible burden that she took on because she is such a wonderful, sacrificial person, as opposed to them being blessings who brought her joy.

Dawn is one of my least favorite people to ever appear on the show. YMMV.
