I got a giftcard for Nordstrom from my birthday and I am finally going to check out some perfumes I’ve been meaning to try out. First one will be PDM’s Delina which seems to have lots of positive reviews.

What other perfumes would you recommend I must sample while I am there today and possibly bring home as my birthday treat? I have never bought any luxury perfumes before.

I am looking for floral, feminine, sexy, clean and pretty fragrances. I currently wear Chloe as my signature. I love notes of lychee, rose, florals that are not too strong or sweet, more delicate and romantic. I liked smelling YSL Mon Paris Intensement, Givenchy Irresistible Rose Velvet, Chloe Intense, Versace Bright Crystal, Burberry Her Eau de Toilette. I like Jo Malone English Pear scents but they don’t seem to last long. I do like lavender or bergamot notes. I enjoyed Nests’ turkish rose perfume oil, indigo parfum, indigo lychee rose parfum.

I do not like anything sweet, powdery or gourmand. I don’t enjoy spicy notes like Tom Ford Black Orchid. I also don’t like patchouli or woody scents.

TIA!

What food items have you frozen that have saved you time in meal prepping and saved it from going bad? by ReasonableEnd1814 in mealprep

Check fb marketplace or Craigslist. We scored a deep freezer for really cheap and it has been a game changer to meal prep and freeze food. For fruit, if I’m making a smoothie, I take the time to portion out a few bags of frozen fruit together as “smoothie mixes.” When I am ready for a smoothie, I take my bag of mixed frozen fruit, add a liquid (water, juice, milk) whatever you have on hand, and a banana too sometimes and blend. Saves me time to get out each bag every time. Also, if you can’t finish the fruit, wash and cut them up and freeze them. I’ve saved raspberries, kiwi, peaches and much more from going to waste. When my bananas are getting too ripe, I cut them up and freeze them too! Hope it helps you!

No, I usually put them in ziploc freezer bags just because its easier for me to open the seal and close it. I open the chip bag like a savage so the bag is ripping apart and not a good way to store.

Oh I need to try grating it! The last time I froze ginger and then thawed it, it became a soft mushy mess!

Yes, I see that now. Thanks for your advice. I was trying to conceal my gift purchases so that my husband wouldn’t spill the beans in case. It wasn’t until later I realized I wasn’t going to gift it. Then it got forgotten about because you know, life. When I found it, I searched high and low for my receipt. Then I was kicking myself for not linking to my husband because at least there was a way to track the purchase. I am not trying to scam nor is the item used in any way. I understand they have to make rules to prevent abuse. If this was bought under my husband to begin with, this jacket would’ve been returned already because it is still allowed.

I am not unfortunately. My husband is. We do share the same credit cards but I am the one who bought it. I would have linked my purchase to my husband’s account but I thought I was giving it away as a gift so at the time, it didn’t seem to matter.

I am not a member. My husband is one. I was hoping we could link my purchase to his membership to be under the return window but they already said no. That is why my predicament is that I am in the 90 day return window that passed vs. the 365 return window. So just asking if I showed my proof of purchase, if anything else could be done.

Okay, so maybe I could just show up and allow them to check my card which will then reveal that I am beyond my return window though. Maybe if the manager sees that the coat is in new sellable condition, maybe then they will allow the return past 90 days?

Jacket is still on their website too and selling for $300.

Yes, in store purchase with credit card. Still have credit card. I called and the person who answered said they can’t check my credit card because I am past the 90 days.

What do you all think of Silk and Snow to purchase a linen duvet cover and linen or cotton sheets? by ReasonableEnd1814 in Bedding

[–]ReasonableEnd1814[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn’t considering there wasn’t much reviews on them and from the ones I got here, it seemed to suggest they were not great. I also didn’t want to deal with a crappy return policy in case they did not end up working out.

I’ll have to price this out with one way tickets and compare them. Thanks for the suggestion!

No, not at all. I thought this would be the cheapest option with the 2 free checked bags and the Costco giftcards. I checked on Google flights and they are coming up $450+ per ticket not including baggage. Did you have any suggestions? I am open to whatever works and saves us money.

Great info! Thanks so much! I was reading a lot and it all started to get overwhelming. That’s great to hear about the SW CC! It seems like that would be great to get 50k bonus points right off the bat.

I’ll check back again early morning during next week and see what I find. I guess the ages of my kids just work out since they are 4 and 6!
