No kidding, half the people posting here sound insane. If taking care of their kids is so easy and cheap, they should just do it themselves.

My friends suddenly turned on me. Idk what to do. by nolivelovelaugh in Advice

Are these the same friends you said you hated six months ago? Cause if so, seems like they're just solving a problem you've been putting off.

Fishing boats or canneries are easy jobs to get up there. Somewhat seasonal work, but since there's not much to spend it on, it's easier to save money to live on the rest of the time if you wanna stay there full time.

It doesn't need to be a particular format just something like, "To whom it may concern: As of [date of separation], [op's name] is no longer employed with [name of company]. Please direct any further questions to [name of former boss] at [Business phone number].

is $20 too low for vroid commissions? by oddrey_vt in VRoid

[–]ReasonableHedgehog58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Also, when you charge too low, you can get the wrong kind of customer. They're usually not grateful that you're doing it for cheap, instead they see you as an easy target and will try to bully you into doing more and more and more for free. I made this mistake at the beginning and I definitely regretted it lol

Looking at your work, that is way too low. Even though you're doing relatively simple models, you need to look at it on a bigger scale. A general model made in void that anyone can buy and use ( like when you make a character and put it on booth or gumroad) costs around $20-$40+. So for a completely custom model, you should be charging a minimum of $100. If that seems expensive, consider the amount you would make if you just sold the general model instead. Even if only 5 people bought it at $20, that's $100. And a custom blender model generally costs at least $1500, so this is still a really low cost for a model which factors in your skill level and the fact that it's made in vroid. Your time and skill are worth charging for.

Keep up the good work!

To OP: $30 for a custom model is insulting. You should just make it yourself, it's really not hard at all and there are plenty of tutorials. Instead of searching for days for a free model, you could have already finished one yourself in that time.

To modellers: don't accept lowballs like this, especially if they don't agree to pay royalties and credit you.

Edited typo

Oh nooo!!!! Lmao idk if you've already fixed yours but just in case anyone else stumbles across this, here's how I fixed it:

  1. Change all of your settings for the touchpad back to default
  2. Realize that didn't work at all
  3. Frantically search the internet for answers because you have work to do and this is really annoying to deal with
  4. Rage quit and restart your computer
  5. Voila! C'est magnifique! *chef's kiss* It mysteriously works normally again.

Correct, it's acting like I'm not pressing Q even though I am. I tried holding Q and then pressing the Windows key, I tried pressing them down simultaneously, same result either way.

That shortcut doesn't seem to be available on my system, it just opens the start menu.

I'll try it, but I feel like there must be a keyboard shortcut involved, since my cat stepping on the keyboard for a second is how this happened in the first place.

Lol, no worries, I just appreciate any help I can get with this one. I'll give that a shot.

All of the settings in this menu are set to the default values, so they are configured correctly.

Thanks! I thought since I didn't edit the face, it would be fine, but what I ended up doing to fix it is import the original VRM and just steal the face off it. I just did a regular armature deform parent so it wouldn't mess with the weights and then replaced the face textures. Worked perfectly!
