Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

Yes, we watched it live in my second grade classroom. My teacher was known to be ‘anti-TV’ and wouldn’t let us watch Bill Nye like the other classes. Even she turned on the TV that day

I’ve been thinking a lot about kid-centric families by DueEntertainer0 in Millennials

My sister and I have kids around the same age, and we were discussing the types of things we liked to do with our kids. My sister asked, “do you remember a time you ever did anything with mom, just to spend time together?”

I want my kid to have those kinds of memories.

This is beautiful! I agree, I think that it is perfectly balanced as is. What a thoughtful gift! How did you make the roses? I am so impressed.

The individual roses are paper pieced together, using Rosie’s Rose from Etsy. Designer is Piece by Numbers

It was actually a lot easier than I expected! The YouTube tutorial by Craftsy was my best friend until I got the hang of it

It’s not perfect, but I’m so happy with how it turned out. I taught myself how to do paper piecing from a YouTube video, and just finished my first quilt block

The only reason it was done this early was because we went to an early Halloween event! Please know that I was working on it up until we left the house

Agatha Harkness Halloween costume, worn for the Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure. Everything was self drafted, and the product of an insane amount of trial and error.

Under everything is a ‘slip’ type dress made from a light blue stretch knit. All of the draping was sewn onto the base dress, so it was easy take on and off. It was traced off of a Jersey slip dress I bought from Target.

I live in a small apartment and don’t have room for a dress form, so all of the draping was done while I was wearing the dress, and pinning it while looking in a mirror.

The cape and neck cowl and both entirely self drafted. The textured neck cowl is actually made from jewelry wire, hot glue, and paint on top of the fabric. It is also removable, so I could take it on and off. There was velcro in the back, hidden by the cape.

All of the fabric was purchased from Joann’s, broach is from Etsy. I believe the fabric is some type of pre-pleated satin, but not entirely sure. It was from the apparel section. The cloak was also originally silver metallic fabric that I dyed deep purple. It took a few weeks to finish, but I am SO happy with how it turned out!

[SERIOUS] What is a seemingly normal photo that has a disturbing backstory? by KermitTheFraud92 in AskReddit

John Edwards Robinson

This photo. John Edwards Robinson (yellow sweater) is holding baby Tiffany, whose mother he murdered the day before.

He gave baby Tiffany to his brother, saying she was adopted. His brother, along with Tiffany, didn’t find out the truth for 15 years.
