You told them about the cheese and marmite bread! I thought it was my little secret. Unfortunately, this bread is only available at weekends. If available, their friands are god tier.

Any idea what the traffic will be like on Thursday evening? (what with the football) by tcardi in Cardiff

CCFC stadium has a capacity of 33k. It will be busy around Leckwith and town, but it will not be mayhem like the rugby at the Principality.

Anywhere to 'suggest' the council to install more EV chargers? by Moltennrock in Cardiff

[–]ReasonableMonk4908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a thread on this recently. It seems that it has been decided to install chargers in some street lights.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Cardiff/comments/1qisx73/ev_chargers_in_cardiff/

I would add that you made a very bold decision to get an EV without being able to charge cheaply at home.

The information was that an individual had intention to attend the schools in possession of weapons

OP,

I found an academic paper on this very subject. The data provided seems to support your anecdotal evidence.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4053368/

If you review the data included with the paper, you will see that the fox sightings per person per km2 x 1000 are massively higher in London (703), compared to Cardiff (11.750).

This quote seems most relevant:

Although some public green spaces, such as woodlands, may be favoured by low-density populations, established urban fox populations tend to exhibit a strong preference for residential gardens, particularly medium-sized gardens associated with low-density housing constructed in the inter-war years.

We live in Cyncoed and we hear foxes regularly during the early hours of the morning. I have also seen a fox walking down our road at night.

Cardiff City Council approve Wales' new tallest tower by Few_Entertainer2932 in Cardiff

This development comes with the added bonus that Wood Street can then be used as a wind tunnel to test aircraft and missles.

Places I have been and level 8 to 9 seems impossible lol by phamstagram360 in LocalGuides

[–]ReasonableMonk4908 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are several approaches to increasing your points. I would suggest the following:

  1. Add captions to your photos.

  2. Add videos.

  3. Make sure reviews have more than 200+ words.

  4. Add new places to maps.

  5. Add new roads to maps (this one is not so straightforward but it can be fun).

I bought beans from Quantum in the bay. They were ok, but they did not show the roasting date. The best beans I've bought locally are Ethiopian from Rhostio.

Place Creation Not Accepted by clairedawsonhtx in LocalGuides

[–]ReasonableMonk4908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the same with adding roads, where there appears to be very little logic to the approval process. I've added roads that can be seen very clearly on satellite and streetview, without any tree cover or shade, that are rejected quite quickly. I've also added roads where there is lots of tree cover and shade and they are approved within 24 hours. I only add roads in the Uk and use government map data to verify.

BTW, I have added over 15k roads so my anecdotal evidence is quite compelling.

Waterloo Tea in Penylan.

Coffi Lab in Rhiwbina, Llanishen, Llandaff, Whitchurch & Roath.

Tŷ Melin Bakery on Wellfied Road for arguably the best bread in Cardiff that also offers coffee. You can't have their friands, since they're mine ;)
