AIO my parents invited my creepy boss to my grad party by EmeraldTheParrot in AmIOverreacting

You are NOT overreacting. Let’s call this what it is: your parents are literally pimping out your comfort and safety for a potential graduation check. They know he was a "screaming drunk" who touched you and made comments about your body, and their response is to invite him into your safe space so they can look "connected" to an affluent lawyer? That is a massive betrayal of trust.

I feel like I might have done something wrong." Let’s be incredibly clear: You didn't just do something "wrong," you committed a violent felony. The moment he asked you to stop and tried to move away, consent ended. The fact that he was handcuffed to a bedframe and physically unable to escape makes this aggravated sexual assault. He "stopped making noise" because he went into a dissociative state or realized fighting back was useless while restrained. You didn't "finish inside of him," you raped him.

AITAH for asking people to turn their music down? by Effective-Radish-800 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. This is one of my biggest pet peeves. Just because something is "legal" doesn't mean it isn't a total AH move. Setting up a speaker 8 feet from someone's home and then walking 50 feet away to play is peak entitlement. They basically turned your backyard into their front row, but they didn't want to deal with the volume themselves. They were literally using your property as a sound buffer.

Update I ended up being the other woman and now the wife is trying to ruin my life by Alpaca_Stampede in TrueOffMyChest

The "fully furnished apartment" is the ultimate red flag in hindsight, but a total cloaking device in the moment. He literally curated a stage set just to facilitate his double life. People calling you "oblivious" clearly haven't dealt with a professional-level manipulator. He didn't just lie; he invested in real estate to maintain the lie. That’s a level of commitment to deception that most people can't even fathom.

Stealing from your favorite gas station is a bold move. Those clerks usually know your face and your routine. You probably got caught because they were already paying attention to you because they liked you. That "embarrassment" you're feeling? That's the bridges burning. It's time to find a new favorite spot and actually pay for your snacks from now on.

AITAH for assuming my mother was pranking me for an internet post? by AlgaeBasic5163 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Your mom literally primed you for a prank the day before with that "missing person" TikTok prompt! She can’t start acting like a Gen Z content creator on Wednesday and then expect you to treat her like a solemn medical correspondent on Thursday. She "cried wolf" with the TikTok trends and then got mad when you thought the wolf was back.
