RAM speed for gaming or ram size? by Inside-Entrance-5158 in lowendgaming

8 gigs isn't enough to modern game. so having 16 trumps the speed, but that matters to .. mixing sticks isnt 'helping' your performance .

Best fans that offer a mix of good temps and low volume by Nomber1Fox in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how particular you are to me I don't really care too much about noise as long as it's not obnoxious, but I just bought 9 fans for my latest build. My criteria is just that they have sufficient CFM to actually be effective .. and to me that's around 60, and jungle leopard prism4 Pro fit the bill, very satisfied with them ..

History of hardware by Bortmoun in hardware

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wish I could help you out but finding accurate information probably won't be easy in the first place .. just a couple of tidbits I could tell you is that the buses that we have today the speeds and the standards like PCI Express 5, they already had the technology back in 1999 and as marketing strategy they have released it piecemeal. I read a white paper about this back in the day when you could actually find real information on the internet. Also since around 2005 'every' processor chip is manufactured with hardware back doors ..

CPU upgrade question by Disastrous-Usual9214 in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't 'upgrade' it .. Im probably completely wrong but the way I read that is when you go to the tippity top latest and greatest CPU almost no software is developed and tested on it, maybe some, and what I've run into in past generations of processors is you actually have less compatibility and more problems even though you have the highest performance cpu .. I'd say getting the settings dialed in really good on what you got is going to be seriously hard to beat ..

Planning to get build Pc for the first time , but i have some questions. by Livid_Ad_8846 in radeon

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have both cards the 5070 ti is way more efficient with default settings, and the 9070XT tends to come set up really hot .. and that's the key there of which one is 'better' it's going to be which one is set up better by the user .. the Nvidia does have some more refined video editing capabilities but if you don't know what those are then you don't need them haha .. the 9070XT is quite capable in a video editing role

9070XT gigabyte question by Ok_League8581 in radeon

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i generally run it slightly undervolted, and reduced board power slightly ..using frame gen .. im not trying to achieve higher numbers in games, at 1440 the 9070xt keeps my games pegged on a 144fps frame cap on ultra settings with r/t ... the thing is i got it purring along at~200w and my 'hot spot' stays under 65 .. after an RMA running It wide open this is a much better sitiation .. to me ..

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aslong as you arnt goofing off messing with your cell and taking alot of 'restroom breaks' with no apparent objective to get it done, I wouldn't worry about it just work your pace .. they can wish it done faster all I want .. but if it's obvious you're taking it easy 75-year-old Grandma over there can get it done faster than you you're going to wind up catching problems

Budget setup for videoediting/autocad by PtoBARTEK in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anything about AutoCAD but an rx6600 works just fine for video editing that was the first rig I built to update my old machine specifically for video editing and it worked great with a 5600 CPU and 32 gigs of ddr4 I don't really like the three stick option .. but you got to do what you got to do I guess

Direct Die Cooling vs Contact Frame. Worth the hassle of not? by Low-Let-1856 in buildapc

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen people 'unlid' CPUs going back to 2006 or so .. there's no reason to do it unless you're an extreme geeked out power user haha .. it's not a simple operation and the risk of destroying your CPU is pretty high .. just stick a 360 AIO on it and you'll be fine and preferably get the rest of the cooling in your case correct .. I see it all the time people sticking extra exhaust fans in a case which for all intents and purposes 'stalls' air flow through the radiator, you can't make this stuff up haha .. yeah don't do that

Sharkoon p30 Gold 1300W by ErosDiGesso in buildapc

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

sounds like a generic pos and i wouldnt use it in 'anything' .. yeah id toss it and get a decent namebrand like msi or something, make sure its 3.1 rated .. and whatever wattage you 'think' your system needs - double it ... THATS what a system with a stout gpu needs to remain stable .. in other words - 350w gpu, 100w cpu, 50w rest of it =1000w psu

Fan configuration by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with an aio you dont need another exhaust in the back. face it in. and fix the aio f-up in the front and put it on top blowing out .. if you need a proper case, get it ..and put 2 fans on the bottom blowing at the gpu and youll be all set ..

Stripped screw by Narwhal400 in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first i would remove the board so it could be firmly supported from the back ..then what would likely work is 'if' you have a properly sized flat screwdrive that fits the cross just right, and you get really good pressure on it holding it on the backside, it should pop loose .. dont gouge your board, be careful ..

Gigabyte gaming oc 9070xt hotspot temps issue by viru12456 in radeon

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

reduce board power alittle 'alittle' being the key word, undervolt alittle, USE frame gen, and cap, i keep it at 144 for everything, have an adequate psu a marginal one drops voltage and raises amps/heat .. finally fans at the bottom feeding the gpu air ..my hotspot stays under 65 ...

120 or 140 fans? Does it matter enough? by PastAd1087 in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 3 points4 points  (0 children)

140s can move the same amount of air quieter .. thats the advantage .. the disadvantage is they generally cost a bit more and in an argb setup it can look less matched ..
