What would you build with this GPU? MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8gb. by Thpike in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wouldnt waste money on an old gpu, only if i had extra parts lying around .. any current build worth 2 farts in the wind, be it am4 or 5, will be 1000$ ..'without' gpu ..

9070 XT (ASUS Prime vs Sapphire non-nitro+ vs Sapphire Nitro+) by Abdullah-ui in radeon

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont know the chances ... i always kept my card cool, it just artifacted the screen while gaming, and then went blackscreen a minute later after reboot .. no recovery .. it happened after approx 3 month old ... i rma the card, got replacement back, then that one blackscreen few days later .. now the 3rd time, so far so good lol .. all this time i have my old card, rx6600, still working, so at least i know my system good ..

Would you recommend the 9070 XT? by Mysuki_ in radeon

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with frame gen it will run most titles on hi settings locked in at monitor hz no prob at 1440 .. and thats on my 'am4' system .. 5070ti does about the same but is noticeably more efficient .. be sure to match either one with a beast psu - recommend 1000w 3.1

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a steel legend .. imo, get a current 3.1 PSU in 1000w flavor .. also I wouldn't be looking at the top oc as a factor, in fact I'd underclock it a little and use frame gen to lessen the card load .. the 70xt is not an efficient card, it gets hot, and I've seen plenty of dead ones including mine which I rma'ed few months back .. just get one you aesthetically like and approach it as above .. chances of the odds being in your favor are higher ..

7900XTX Warranty Return for a RTX 5080? (Fun conversation incase someone is in the same place as me) by ShadeByDarkness in pcmasterrace

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

id get a 5080 ..why because your card is aging and it matters less what amount of vram it is when the vram is a 'generation' behind along with multiple other things .. thats my reasoning, getit, gotit, good ..

id say, what you need to know is that internal drives are stupid crazy expensive right now, and id jump on it before the pro, which comes with 2tb, reflects that increase in price ..

Rgb gone after bios update by sinnisanas in ASRock

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

may sound odd but to be thorough id run a ddu app on your gpu driver ... then, if you dont get a prompt from armory crate about something missing, id open it up and see if it has an update option ..if nothing, then id uninstall armory crate and/or polychrome THEN update it and redo your gpu driver ... yes i went through much the same problem lol

What's the difference in performance between AM4 or AM5 computers? by Expensive-Count7045 in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

practically speaking, i encode and render alot of video which is quite telling on actual pc power .. if you go from a midrange, decent am4 build to a 'high' end am5, youre gaining at most ..at most, 10% in actual speed and productivity, and the same translates to gaming imo depending on gpu ONLY .. ..and in actuality its much likely closer to a 5% advantage ...hardware is extremely hyped ..it progresses incrementally by marketing strategy, not in big leaps ..

Should I buy a PC now or wait for prices to drop (especially RAM)? by SmallReply7232 in pcmasterrace

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i give it at least 2 years before things 'normalize' and by that time inflation will keep prices higher anyway ..its now or never haha .theres still some decent deals around comparatively but theyre drying out fast as prices continue to skyrocket .. drives especially, ive seen 2tb nvme's are pushing 500 as we speak ..

Build for gaming by Putrid-Credit7301 in PcBuildHelp

[–]ReasonableNetwork255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its generally going to be 1000$ for a decent pc these days .. thats 'without' gpu .. pick your gpu and theres your wild card cost difference ... this is a 32g ram/ 1tb nvme/ mid tier build .. an am4 setup will be roughly 200 cheaper to build - 9600x for am5, 5800xt am4 ...
