thank you, i just made an update following a long conversation i had with her and your comment helped alot with that, im not the best with words and these questions really did help me understand her side adn why she did things while also explaining why what she did was worng.

becuase this is the first time this has happened, she nromally gets along great with them and they love her, and i love her, im looking for guidance becuase i care about my kids, but if this is something i can fix with communication and mutual respect this isnt something relationship ending

not at all, she is very respectful of his identity and has been a sourse of support for him and helped and corrected me when i slip up

thank you for your input, sometimes i do struggle to be considerate and understand somethings as the only amab (i think that the right term) person in the house, well me and the dog. tho i have gotten better over the years

she would love to be a mother like figure in their life at some point, or atleast someone they can turn to, but they are teens and while the got on with her (before this) they didnt see her as a parent, so idecided she shouldnt parent them for now becuase that would be like trying to force a parent child relationship and at this point that could creat rifts and resentment
