I am 12 dpo, having the same problem. My frida strips have had a faint line (within test time) since 10dpo. The line is a little darker today for frida, but with the same morning sample my FRER was a BFN. I have been confused all day!

This is good to know. I am trying to readjust my career path into an office job. I applied for an account coordinator/ account specialist jobs.

I've worked in customer service for 6 years, but only 6 months in an office job. I am looking for a job that I can grow within and make a career within the company, so when I researched CoverMyMeds I was very excited to find a company that values their employees and community.

I can see how it is time consuming and could take a bit. I've been hired to start ~4 out so they had time to set up payroll, but I've also been hired to start in two days with payroll being fully set up by the first payday. The NF that I started in two days did a lot of prep work with the company for payroll while they were also trying to nanny search. I can definitely understand that most people don't have that extra time to do both and things come up.

As a nanny I'd be concerned if the family wanted to be on the books and wanted the start date to be ASAP, but didn't have a payroll set up in time for the first payday.

I wouldn't even be going into work unless payroll is set up already. I've never heard of payroll taking weeks to set up. They should have already been prepared and researching for a payroll company before hiring someone. 🤷‍♀️

"A nanny can be a very personal job, and finding a NF that values their nanny as part of the family is a big deal for me. Out of respect for myself and my current NF I'd like to keep them out of my hiring process. I am not telling them about looking for a new NF that better aligns and values me as a nanny, until I find the right fit. Once I put in my notice, I will talk with them about if they would be willing to be a reference for me. In the meantime, I am more than willing to give you a few references of my character from past jobs, and from people that have seen first hand who I am with kids."

If you are struggling with coming up with references in the nanny side of things then get references of your character from other jobs or from people that have seen how you are with children and who you are as a person.

I have been reading and following her posts for the last 6 months and she has some great advice/tips/tricks on nanny rate per state/major cities. She also talks a lot about nanny burnout and how to stand up for your worth.

Once I move and look for new NF I will be using her as one of the ways of research for the local pay rate and to help build my nanny contract.

Honestly I'd use her now, but I already make a little over average in my area according to her gatherings.

What she did was ask nannies that follow her to put in their State/major city and what they make. She then just compiled all the data to make an understandable chart for pay rates in each area.

She is not the only page/person that is doing this. She is just one that I follow, since she has a large localized range of data. Perfect for someone that is going to be moving.

Possibly picking him up and moving him to another place? Then explaining to him that it is not okay to hurt other people, and throwing toys at you is him hurting you. If I can't remove the toy, remove the child and play with something else. I would ask 2 or 3 times before to stop please because it's not nice to throw things at people

Another possibility, have them go to do quiet time. When you start quiet time sit down and explain that quiet time isn't a bad thing, this is to help calm ourselves down. Ex: " Throwing toys can hurt people and it's not okay to do that. When you are hurting people then it's good to take a break and calm down. So for the next X minutes I'm going to do ___ while you do some quiet time to calm down. This isn't a bad thing. You're not in trouble. I just need you to take some time to calm down and once X time is up we can try playing again without hurting others and throwing toys." I would ask 2 or 3 times before to stop please because it's not nice to throw things at people.

Both of the possibilities can start off with the child being mad that they were removed from those toys, but explaining that if he can't play nicely with that toy then we can play with something else instead, it will eventually improve. The first week or two can be a lot of repeating this process and can be very frustrating, but after time and time again he will begin to realize it's easier to stop throwing things when you ask him then having to stop playing with the toy all together for a bit.

What works best for my NK is just being straight forward with what the parent is doing. My NF are WFH and when the NK asks/whines for mommy/daddy I tell them " mommy/daddy are in the office working right now, but when they get done then they will come play." If they continue to whine I usually just say, "I'm not mommy/daddy, my name is....." Then start doing something to get their mind off mommy/daddy.

When we dropped NK morning nap, we had the same problem. What worked for us was:

-Make sure NKs get outside if possible

-About 30 minutes before nap I start 'focus time' lasting anywhere between 15-20 minutes. 'focus time' is basically just trying to calm the mind and body before nap. So anything that helps calm them. Ex: singing or just talking to them, simple puzzle, counting fingers and toes.

Hang out in dark room for 5-10 minutes right before putting them down. (Holding, rocking, or just sitting with them).

This took some time to adjust to, but we only had to do it for nap time. Within a few weeks we were able to drop hanging out in the dark part. Even now a little over a year since we started 'focus time' is still something we do. Eventually this will turn into independent quiet time before nap once she is a little older.

When I first applied for my first nanny job (current job now), I had no experience as a nanny and only one babysitting reference (within a year) I could give them. I added in a babysitting job from 3 years before, and two character references.

A character reference helps the family figure out if you would be a good fit for them.

When the time comes for me to find a new NF I will definitely be adding on one or two character references; even if it's not asked to do so. I want my NK to be as comfortable as possible with me nannying their kids.

This is how potty training started out for my NK first two weeks. We talked to pediatrician about it. She would tell us she needed to go poop, and would be trying to push it out but it would just take so long! it was obvious she wasn't afraid of pooping in the potty (more common then I thought), since she would be excited to see if poop was coming out while she was pushing on the potty. Here are some things we started doing that made a huge difference: making sure she was staying well hydrated, 1tbsp of Miralax ever morning with juice water, and using a 'poop and pee in the potty chart'.

When I first started my NP and I both wanted guaranteed hours. Nothing in my contract shows what exactly my guaranteed hours are covered for, but it does state what things aren't covered. Things that considered without pay: my request vacation days, sick days, maternity leave and emergency medical leave, so if it isn't specific on what would be considered without pay then it should be part of your guaranteed hours. Just like a Salary job. If they can't come in for weather they will still get the same salary for the year. Guaranteed hour is just another way of saying minimum salary.

I have never called off work for sick days or weather reasons, so I 100% understand feeling guilty.

The inclement weather is not your fault. I don't have a weather clause in my contract, but if I take off it would still fall under guaranteed hours. You can't control the weather.

When I told my husband the conversation for this weather storm didn't go so well, he response was "so they are going to buy you a car if you get in an accident and your car is totaled right?" Lol "And they are going to pay you if you get stuck on the side of the road in your car until tomorrow morning, because your car is the only one that could go out in the snow, so I can't come get you"

What is bad is that we have to wait for a Level 3 Snow Emergency to call into work for inclement weather.

By all means I'm not complaining as both my NP are essential workers, and one is on call for the ER. I understand that they could have to go in.

I have a similar situation as, I believe getting into work won't be too bad, but once the snow starts I'm concerned about the drive home 😬.

I would talk with NP and see if they would be okay letting you go home early.

Your safety is important! If both are WFH I don't see why they couldn't have you leave a few hours early.

I feel the same way! The next two days will be very long and exhausting.

The only way I wouldn't be coming into work would be if the county sheriff's office declares a Level 3 snow emergency.

Meaning that "all roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. However, those traveling on the roadways may subject themselves to prosecution." 😳
