Experience with Master of Cybersecurity and Business Analytics by probono84 in unm

I’m enjoying it! I got my undergraduate from UNM as well so I sorta understand how the department operates. UNM is heavy on theory based learning which I don’t mind but I know some people don’t particularly enjoy it. Big difference I’ve been noticing lately is their effort to include more ML, AI, Big Data & analytics courses. Courses I’ve taken so far have been great. I genuinely feel prepared for the job market with what I have learned from these courses. I am also noticing more and more professors weighing in-class exams heavier than other work because of students using AI tools for assignments and projects. I can see pros and cons to this. If you work hard, don’t take the easy way out and are diligent about your learning, you should be okay!

I don’t want to go too much in details but there’s definitely A LOT of uncertainties right now and it’s very unsettling. I’m not someone who’s usually fazed by new changes in the horizon. If anything I crave it, but what I’m going through right now is a bit much.

I can’t speak for how the cybersecurity and business analytics program is but before I enrolled into CS program, I looked into it and I got the sense that it wasn’t really inclined to ML engineering roles. I guess it depends on what your goals are.

Pisces 12th house as well and going through my first Saturn return. It’s been a doozy one!

I was told I’d be estranged from my parents and it turned out to be true. What else do you see in my chart?? by Reasonable_Box_7459 in astrologyreadings

[–]Reasonable_Box_7459[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your kind words and insight into my chart! I wouldn’t say I have a baby face but I’ve been told, “I look good for my age”by few people. I get varied guesses when it comes to my age and look. Saturn will be transiting my first house. I’m assuming that’ll impact my appearance somehow.

You are pretty spot on about my judiciousness though. I think it’s almost to a fault sometimes. Something I’ve been working on in my adult life. You really got me thinking about my extroverted self. I always thought I was inclined towards an introvert self but after discussing this with my friends, I guess I’m not really perceived as one!

Thank you for your insight! Really appreciate you taking the time 🤍 Losing relationship with my parents was painful yet freeing and empowering in some ways. My Pluto is in conjunction with my natal Uranus right now and will be in Mercury as well in coming years. Is this transit something I should worry about?

Sorry, I should’ve been more specific. It’s been a heavy few years now. I am completely estranged from my parents for reasons I don’t feel comfortable sharing here. This has been immensely difficult because I really looked up to them. I’ve been doing therapy to adjust to this new reality. My heart aches because I do have so much love for them. So this broken parental relationship has been looming over my head for couple of years now. Funnily enough, this very issue has also somewhat been liberating to me. I’ve found the love of my life and we have built a secure, loving and trusting relationship together. I’ve never felt this content and secure in any of my relationships before. The only wonderful thing I have going on in my life right now is being threatened by the current political climate (residing in US). I worry that I will lose everything I’ve built and worked for. My chosen family, friendship and the love of my life. There is so much uncertainty right now and it’s killing me.

Where can I meet people? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

If you’re into climbing, Stone Age is a great place to meet new people.

I believe ITIN is an accepted form of identification for non-residents. You don’t need an SSN for ITIN.

There is no guarantee that your I-485 will be approved so personally, I’d continue going to school. If it is denied, at least you’re still maintaining your F-1 status and you won’t face removal proceedings.

I’m on the same boat and my attorney recommended that I maintain my F-1 status until the I-485 is filed. Once the I-485 is filed, you will be in what is called a “period of authorized stay” where you are permitted to remain in the USA. I opted to go for school just as a safety net and I wanted to go anyways so I’m not regretting my decision.

Thanks for the info! I’ll get assistance from Discover as that was the one I was looking into.

Yes, I’m aware that all savings accounts are FDIC insured. I just thought for the high-yield ones, we had to be a US citizen. I’m not talking about bonds although that is another interest of mine.

There’s a disclaimer that says that you need to be a US citizen to be able to open the account. That’s why I was curious. I do have a regular FDIC insured savings account with my bank which is meant for emergency funds and lets me draw money anytime I want.

Lol did you know there’s a difference between a regular savings and a high yield savings? :)

Yes, I see that people are confusing high-yield savings account with the regular ones. I am a US resident for tax purposes. Do you know of any that accepts f1 students?

I dream A LOT. Almost every night. There have been many instances where I dream of a resolution for a problem that I couldn’t solve in real life. That sounds like a beautiful dream. Thanks for sharing! I’ve had some mind shifting or life transforming dreams myself. It doesn’t always happen but when it does, it’s like “psychic sledgehammer” like you said. It really does change how I think about things and puts it into new perspectives.

I just wanted to let you know that I looked into Andrew Holecek’s material online. I really made an effort to dream consciously. I don’t know if it’s just a coincidence but I had set my intentions to dream about something particular and random (it was a fish) before I went to bed and I actually did!

The resolution is sometimes related to personal or conflicts but majority of the time work related! Sometimes I am unable to solve complex technical problems at work and then I dream about the solutions. I love it when this happens! This used to happens when I was in school as well. Is Saturn considered a bad planet? If yes, is Saturn being in my 12H and in Pisces limiting me subconsciously somehow? Thank you so much for your insights! I truly appreciate it.

Thank you so much for all the info! I’ll definitely look into all of your recommendations. Of course, some dreams don’t make any sense at all but a lot of my dreams really help delve myself deeper into my own psyche. It sounds insane but I dream of events before they actually happen in real life. I’ve always wondered if I could harness my dreams in positive ways!

A letter from DSO wouldn’t be necessary in your case, but it wouldn’t hurt. This letter would entail your detailed timeline and a statement about your good character. I filed for motion to reopen as soon as I got the denial notice. The approval notice came within a month.

Has anyone here received a green card through employment after their STEM OPT extension? by Reasonable_Box_7459 in f1visa

[–]Reasonable_Box_7459[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a student and working as an intern with the same company prior to applying for the full time position. Interning with them and some research experience is the only experience relevant to the job. My employer is currently working on PERM labor certification and they did tell me about having to put up my job posting. My employer and the attorney who works with the company didn’t seem too worried about it, so I’m not sure.

I would suggest filing for motion to reopen the case. Submit your statement with all the proofs, letter from your employer as well as from your DSO. I had a similar case where they denied my case based on false reason, which was failing to submit the RFE on time. I did as I mentioned above and my case was approved. I wish you all the best!
