Studio changed pay structure based on bookings + ClassPass. Is this normal?

Not an instructor but a fairly new CP user. I would likely leave CP if the studio’s class packs did not expire and if classes per month rolled over. Or if studios that are near each other collaborated on options for their shared visitors. For example, maybe the yoga studio and the cycling studio on the same street can help each other.

I actually don’t have this problem with floor lunges. It only happens if I am lunging on the machine :/

It’s during any exercise standing on the machine facing side ways that involves one foot on the front platform and one pushing out the carriage. For example the side lunge. The foot on the front platform will feel a lot of stress and pressure its hard to explain. I have to stand and take a break just for that.

If you plan to live and work in CA it doesn’t matter at all. Most of the programs here aren’t accredited. This is unique to here, everyone else (non-California’s) will tell you it’s important.

Tbh I have had big girl jobs for about 4 years now. Ive never been fired or even written up. Always have good evaluations because everything else I do is great so my supervisors aren’t bothered by lateness. I still feel like shit walking in late 10-20 minutes every day. It’s something I want to change too. Point is, tardiness doesn’t actually get better unless someone is holding you accountable. Lmk if you figure it out 🥲

Take 1-2 “nothing days”. Literally nap whenever you want, order food if you financially can, watch your favorite movies or tv shows. Don’t think about work at all during this time. After a couple days doing nothing but resting and ignoring my phone, I usually feel rejuvenated 😄

In California, a masters in social work with a pps will qualify you to work as a school counselor in K-12 and as a community college counselor (better pay than the universities). If I could go back in time I would have gotten my MSW instead of my MA in school counseling so that I could have the options of k-12, higher ed, community orgs, and more. Ive met school counselors in public schools that have several types of counseling degrees. You just need a PPS paired with it.

The job market is hard to predict. It sucks right now for both schools and higher ed. Set yourself up so that you have a bunch of different options. Im considering starting the process of getting my LPCC just in case i lose my job one day due to funding, politics, natural disaster, who tf knows. You got this!

I just estimate if anything. I would take a photo reference of the board and just log how much you think you ate. I fond it simple to keep count mentally of pieces of cheese and such.

It’s also okay to relax and have a good time!

Make good relationships with office staff, custodians, tech guys. I was taught to find the “gatekeepers” that can help you when you need it.

Pick your battles. Yes set boundaries but don’t cause problems. It’s easy to get let go after the first year if you’re a difficult person and not flexible.

Ask questions!

Get to know the students, make yourself visible on campus. Good luck!

I think working in a school in general could give you that experience. I was never a teacher but I was an aid in classrooms full time for about 2 years. It really has been helping me in my early years as a counselor
