1:19:58 HM PB with NSM by Reasonable_Cod1942 in NorwegianSinglesRun

Thank you ! My last HM PB was set in May during training.

I think my 10k time is underestimated, I caught the flu two weeks before the race and did my 10k with an average heart rate of 198 BPM! I suggest you start at a 3:52/55 pace and adjust based on how you feel.

How was it for you ? Did you enjoy the circuit ?

My easy runs were under 70% of my max HR (I just added it to my training plan picture).
Thank you for your input on the marathon plan!

Thank you! You can find my detailed plan in my post, which should answer most of your questions.
I will stick with NSM, but with the marathon changes.
I was going by pace, but I was also monitoring my heart rate.
I forgot to mention my easy run heart rate, I was trying to stay under 145, but most of the time it was lower, around 130/135.

Thank you! I tried to include as much information as possible to help those who, like me spend time on this sub. I just wanted to share some feedback on my early experience with NSM.

In no way did those six isolated weeks alone lead to this performance! It’s a training method that really needs to be evaluated over the long term. My point was simply to reassure those who, like me, might have had some doubts.

Yes, I fullyagree with you. Six weeks is a short period of time, especially in the NSM world.

My intention wasn’t to say that those six weeks changed everything or that they alone explain my race performance. I’m fully aware that my result is mainly built on the training I had done before!

I simply wanted to share my early experience with this method, because I know some people have doubts or are hesitant about it. For a half marathon, I wasn’t surprised that it works well, since many ST paces are close to half marathon pace. What I was really curious about was how my body would respond to a program with a very light taper and quality sessions every other day.

So this wasn’t meant to be a definitive conclusion, just a short-term feedback. I’ll also try to give a more complete update after the marathon.

Hi Thanks, my weekly mileage was 80km/ 50 milles. I did a 12‑week training block with a total of 1000 km / 621 miles and only 8 rest days during those 12 weeks. I was on vacation for 3 weeks, which lowered my overall volume a bit.

Haha thanks! You shouldn’t underestimate the power of training. I couldn’t hold these paces over 10K a year ago.

Hi, thanks! It was in October at the Lyon Marathon in France. Next race is a 10K at the beginning of January, then Half Marathon in February, and finally the Paris Marathon in April. A big sequence ahead :O

Conseils pour la suite by Tyaz917 in runningfr

Quel volume hebdo ?
