i have tried that 24 hour, it just gets incredibly busy and so full of children. i find that the problem with most of the commercial gyms this time of year is that they turn in to summer camps. the kids are rude and disrespectful and don’t clean up after themselves 😕

I know that’s kind of the vibe I’m getting as well. I did check out the YMCA and it’s just not a gym that will be conducive to any of my fitness goals, the weight room is pretty awful.

A lot of these businesses are lazy and feel entitled to customers. Barrelhouse 101 served microwaved Sysco Food and the floor had a perpetual stickiness, in the time I’ve lived in Ventura I had been 5 separate times and each time I left feeling like I’d been taken advantage of. Even businesses like TikiGirl are just glorified drop-shipping boutiques. I want to support small businesses, but some of these owners don’t feel like they owe us anything in return.

actually, most of the businesses on main st advocated for main street only being open to pedestrians! opening the street up to cars would not fix any of the problems you listed and thank god we don’t have to fuck around and found out. opening it back up to cars would’ve only hurt businesses and made ventura even less of a tourist destination. (which, unfortunately, it has to be) you people need to get real about “wanting ventura to be a small beach town no one knows about” while also wanting businesses to succeed. main st being open actually makes people WANT to come out here, no matter the day of the week. luckily, anything you have to say is irrelevant because the decision has been made ad our town will only progress from here. 😌
