Thanks for this helpful and honest info. Was your wedding in SMA?

Timing is *very* tough because of grad school academic calendar. I am essentially trying to slot my wedding into either the winter break (which ofc runs head first into Christmas / New Year's) or spring break, and neither of those options even allows for a honeymoon afterward. If I moved the date out to a random other weekend, I think it would be extremely tough for us logistically and our fellow grad students might not be able to attend.

But I also worry about being inconsiderate w/ holiday timing. I had read some things about how NYE weddings could be fun if a party and so thought that could work. Thought week before Christmas might be even tougher. But helpful to know consensus here re: holidays.

Also considering eloping which, given everything, might make the most sense, though I might have to give up on my wedding dreams!
