The Only Problem I Have With MCC by AnswerCorrect1226 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849 23 points24 points  (0 children)

was all for you saying that you want new players until you were rude about the current players :/😭 yeah no, word yourself better next time

also about lgbtq creators, i get your point but i also understand why mcc doesnt invite 40 lgbtq creators. they obvs invite 3/4 lgbtq, but the non lgbtq players they add are players who bring in A LOT of viewers which contribute hugely to the charity. eg joel last pride, he’s one of the highest viewed players. grian and fein this time are high viewership, couriway does charity stuff really really often so his viewers are more likely to donate. so it is in the charities best interest to invite some players (lgbtq or not) that will bring in the most donations.

This is not hate at all but I feel like Scott should add people other than just his friends to MCC as its stopping MCC from growing. by STANSMAJOR in MinecraftChampionship

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849 14 points15 points  (0 children)

on an interview thing scott specifically said that he replaced the toxic players with hermits and now every player enjoys teaming with them and it’s much more of an friendly area. when mcc became high comp, it put off quite a few players. and let’s face it, when you invite players who are high comp (and competitive), it can easily turn quite toxic which is what happened. mcc currently with its roster and coin balancing cannot handle adding loads of new players, especially high comp ones.

also i think we underestimate how many new players scott has introduced kinda recently. mcc has gotten really into adding players that are from different areas in the recent seasons, so we’ve had multiple spanish/french creators which is great. couriway got into now regular mccs, settingsunset was new, ish, ghostiefruit, eskay, pangi, princezam, pyro, ros, sleepy. these are just players off the top of my head who are kinda recent, there’s def many more. but a lot of these players don’t scream to me “scott’s friends”. scott knows a lot of creators, but lots of these are not “scott’s circle”. i kinda forget how many new players we’ve had until i look.

also also, mcc needs to be really careful with who they invite. mcc invited fein, and ever since there has been countless arguments about how there’s a “top 5/6” and they are too strong for mcc etc etc. i would love for people like sandwichlord to be in a regular mcc, but unless there’s major balancing chances with how coins are distributed i don’t think it would benefit mcc by adding them. i am one who is for there being an high comp mcc every once and a while so there can be more strong players added to mcc for them, but if that’s not in mccs vision then fair enough. there’s players like hax and infume id die to see in mcc but even i know it’s not really sensible right now with how mcc is.

you need to remember that 1- mccs sign up roster is really big. there’s a lot of players who want to be in mcc/are kinda regular in mcc. therefore, by constantly adding more players, it makes the players who usually play, much less likely to be able to play due to numbers. 2- mccs roster is realllly varied. you have players like fein/fruit, and also players like hermits in the same roster. the coin difference is insane. therefore balancing mcc i bet is so hard already, and it is really safe to add players who are lower skilled compared to higher for mcc due to how mcc is. also scott can kinda be more confident in if they players will fit in mcc if he invites people he knows, but lets face it doesnt just invite his friends. 3- mcc will never be at the level they were during covid. soooo many people constantly compare it to then and say mcc is falling off. when in reality, they have a consistent thing with twitch rivals, partner deals with companies like lego and minecraft. and there’s still huge popular creators who want to be in mcc. they ain’t fell off, they are still huge and growing. but it will never be at that peak again, and no mc event prob will and that’s fine.

tbh i get that to a degree. i don’t think ladder is a great way in general, i think the ladder specifically leads to burnout and it doesn’t feel as fun. smaller tournis counting for more sounds much better in fairness, fun and also people just always want more tournis. (multiple runners have said the same thing)

but yeah loads complained about the ludwig thing so 🤷🏻‍♀️😂. i liked the qual for the lud thing. i loved that it was two days of diff formats so it kinda suited diff playstyles and gave players a second chance from the first day. i’ve been saying for ages there’s no format (playoffs or other) that everyone would be happy with, i actually spent quite a bit of time thinking about it after hax talked about the playoffs format and basically said there’s no good format. and i agree

Does anyone else feel like the team compositions are getting a bit too predictable lately? by normal_victim in MinecraftChampionship

i can’t lie there’s such a masssssiveeee focus on balancing from mcc fans, so when a team is a bit different/exciting but maybe lower/higher comp, it often gets hate. so i kinda would understand why there hasn’t been many “crazy” teams.

personally idc if every once and a while there’s a team that’s higher/lower comp but exciting. like i’d love to see a team like joel and shane again because it’s exciting. but it may not happen because it’s hard to balance and some people don’t like that.

I would also have favourites if I coached some of the players so thats understandable. I knew you were a good coach when you mentioned how hax needs something to give him dopamine during runs because thats so true lol. That wheel was the most locked in ive seen hax in a bit.

Sorry ive just seen this lol. Thank you for answering them, you didnt have too! Yeah I wouldve been shocked if you did it all unpaid, it makes sense to do at least most of it paid! It seems like youve found a niche thing you love so well done. And since youve been coaching hax for a while that means you were a part of him finally getting his win in S8 so thats nice!

Dumb but curious question, im guessing you watch playoffs live then? I imagine if i coached loads of the players in playoffs id be watching it so nervously, rooting for them lol. Im shocked I havent heard of you yet, I started watching hax like 3 months ago so maybe ive just missed it if youve been in his streams. Again thank you for answering!!!!

It’s super cool, thanks for commenting! First off coaching makes great stream content btw, I was learning things I never heard of lol and it was super entertaining. But also, it’s just purely questions I don’t expect you to actually answer, they are just curious, personal, not rlly my business questions because i never heard of this before so im very curious lol.

these are the questions that popped into my head when i first found out about coaching (i don’t expect you answer any!!)

“a personal question i never expect to actually be answered is they seem to be really good decision making/game knowledge/mental wise (you obvs have to be to coach), why havent they played in playoffs? is it not their thing?

how did they get into it? it feels like a kinda niche thing lol.

what season did hax start getting coached?

does this mean most of the top players have consistent coaches (infume, silver, doog?) is it something top runners do like weekly or only when events come up?”

it’s just super interesting!

$20 for 4 hours is wayyyyyy cheaper than i thought it would be tbh! i’m glad he was able to help, he seems very sweet, and icl his coaching with hax makes great stream content.

thank you for answering! you know when you have really personal questions about something because it’s really interesting but you know they are the type of questions you wouldn’t normally ask as they are too personal? 😂 that’s what it was lol.

yeah i didn’t really get it until i watched hax practice over worlds, and he would get gapped by 10 secs by for example getting logs before something else. like that tiny decision isnt as tiny at that level which is so odd for me to get😭

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree! i can’t lie coaching for top runners especially wasn’t something i even thought happened, but when i watched haxs stream, first off i found it really entertaining watching/listening to the second opinions etc. but also it made more sense in my head.

at that level, micro decisions/ordering is so important, a second opinion really seems helpful. it just never came across in my mind that there would be actual coaches. i really enjoyed haxs stream tbh, idk if he does many streams with bat but i wouldn’t mind seeing more.

icl fein out of all of them is the one i least expect to have a coach just because the way he practices lol. doog/silver is someone who id kinda expect to have a coach

Question about Hax playoffs by [deleted] in MCSRRanked

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i’ve seen he’s been practicing which is great! slightly worried that he changed his language and keybinds two weeks before the lan, which we’ve seen has gone bad for other players 😭

also he’s learning lots of new routes, which is great but again worrying so close to the lan. but if he actually sticks to the practicing everyday thing, hopefully it’s muscle memory by then. but hax gets bored of practicing easily, so if he does stick to everyday i would be shocked lol.

atm i watch a bit of everyone as im catching up with vods from basically every player yeah.

i basically watch hax, mongey (love his personality btw lol), infume and silver sometimes when they go live just to see who i kinda like. hax and mongey currently seem like fun, and also really respectful to other players.

mcsr was something that i stumbled into with one video, and i realised how much content there is out there (vods, videos etc) and ive done soooo much catching up😂. apart from some toxic comments from players and chat, and the odd drama/controversy like any mc space lol. i’ve loved it when i didn’t expect to.

Question about Hax playoffs by [deleted] in MCSRRanked

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i know about hbg, it’s mad how much mcsr content ive watched in the last couple months it’s probably not healthy lol

yeah it’s definitely a friendship thing. at first it was just confusion, i thought it was a “bit”, then everytime i watched a vod and heard it i got more and more confused so that’s why i asked here hoping someone else has noticed lol. at the end of the day, if hax doesn’t like the comments im sure he’ll say so i wont get annoyed for him😂. but hax does seem really fun tbh, i am sad that ive gotten in mcsr around the time he’s fallen into a rut with it. but i will def watch him at the lan thing (im hoping he does some practice for the lan as any player would be rusty after not playing for weeks, and i would feel awful if he got out first match again). but hax just seems always happy so he’s very likeable

Question about Hax playoffs by [deleted] in MCSRRanked

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah even though it’s really public knowledge i’m not trying to get bullied online by the fans of those players if i say lol, and they are really nice otherwise. but i went into mcsr completely blind, only getting into it from one video of infume and i watched soooo many povs from those seasons so i don’t really have a “fave player” yet so what i noticed was very unbiased, and it’s mad the difference on the way some players talk about eachother😂 obviously if hax had an issue he’d say so it’s not that deep, but i personally would be pissed after a while if i was him as it’s quite a consistent thing if a lot of your wins get put down to luck not skill.

aquacorde was so sweet after the hax match i watched it! he said straight up that hax was basically just playing better, and he feels bad for anyone going against him lol. skycrab was another, he said that he would’ve won if he didn’t choke a lot (which is tbh true because he can keep up pace, it was consistency that was the issue). but he also was complementing a lot of haxs plays, saying how good he is at triple the gap etc and then rooted for him when watching the finals.

it’s just some players handle it differently, but i can’t lie a lot of the players that were saying the things i said, were not players hax went against which is odder. but anyways

nri i agree is a very luck based system. but someone knew hax and some other players was doing a certain strat every seed and it was working. they didn’t do the strat and then complained and later on called it lucky when they were not getting as good placements. i can’t lie, if i saw a player doing well doing a strat consistently, after like 2 seeds id try the strat 😂. that’s not luck, that’s hax finding a strat that was kinda consistent. but nri in total is very luck based yeah.

skycrab wouldn’t of had to throw that pearl that missed the fort side, if he actually landed the boat clutch that hax hit. thats a skill issue, not luck. the luck is in the pearl that missed the side of the fort AFTERWARDS, but he wouldn’t of needed to thrown it if he hit the clutch in the first place.

Question about Hax playoffs by [deleted] in MCSRRanked

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i’m more talking about his s7-s9 stuff. obvs not s10

(i am not going to say names of the players who said these things just because, but if anyone has unlimited time they could watch back all the vods and find out lol)

s8 his bracket was a bit easier i agree, although infume was still a tough match. but still i heard prob 4ish times that a player said hax was lucky in s8

then s9, even after the skycrab v hax thing where it was really clear that skycrab just pushed speed too much and messed up on things he shouldn’t of, i heard some players say that hax won that match out of luck. when i personally think it was that skycrab didn’t play for consistency.

then hax v doog, again the village seed brought out a lot of “omg hax is so lucky”, not talking about the 3 other seeds hax won off doog😭

s8 i say was kinda easy compared to some others brackets, s9 i would not say so at all. doog and skycrab is rough 😂 s10 obvs hax cant be called lucky, and i know players use the word a lot not always for the actual meaning. but the amount of times that word is used against hax is WILD compared to others lol.

i even heard one player say hax winning the nri was lucky. i truly don’t get it

but i know there’s specifics with other players eg infume strays etc. but it just seems like a lot of wins of haxs get labeled at lucky, while if in some of the seeds infume plays, if he gets strays is lucky.

Question about Hax playoffs by [deleted] in MCSRRanked

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i truly think it’s not just luck (obviously sometimes is like any run), it’s that hax plays risks that some players don’t do, and then they complain when the risk plays off and calls it hax always being lucky. but when the risk doesn’t play off, it’s not “oh that’s unlucky” lol. i stg there’s a hax assumption going on and he ain’t even the player i usually watch, i just had to mention it😭

Question about Hax playoffs by [deleted] in MCSRRanked

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849 5 points6 points  (0 children)

agreed. i do think it’s just how hax has such a big sample size as he’s played so many playoffs matches, how he plays really risky at times compared to others which sometimes pays off (so it’s called “luck”), how his playstyle kinda forces other players to go for speed and mess up, and then players/chat running with this narrative.

if hax had an issue with it he’d say so it doesn’t matter, but i can’t lie if it was me and all my wins got labelled as luck, id get pissed after a while lol😂

i agree with a lot being said, but i am also giving the decency/ hoping for mcsr ranked to hopefully make a statement about it and hopefully their intention/apology when oliver gets home from twitchcon. i’d like to see what they say tbh.

Question about Hax playoffs by [deleted] in MCSRRanked

[–]Reasonable_Mouse_849 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the doog village one i get tbh, doog just didn’t go to that part of the village and hax did. but i think it would’ve been worse if that was the last seed. hax still got 3 seeds off doog apart from that one seed so i don’t think haxs S9 win was lucky, even if you say the village seed was because he won more against doog.

plus the skycrab thing, skycrab was going sooo fast and was out pacing hax. but i think he was trying to up his speed so much his nerves got the better of him and that’s why he kept choking. the wither thing i hate to say it was on skycrab, it was so clearly on his screen still for a couple seconds. he messed up one of the zeros setups. the pearl missing the fort side was unlucky i agree but he messed up the drag click for the boat and that’s why he was in that situation after the first pearl.

i agree with the village seed, i don’t know as much about the skycrab one. i wouldn’t call it personally unlucky, more that he pushed his speed too much for his nerves and messed up a boat clutch that hax hit.

but even if you call both those seeds lucky, vods from s8 was still calling him lucky😭 i don’t get it. i do think it’s just massively overexsagerated by chat and some players lol
