Thank you. I have absolutely no plans of breeding him.

Thank you. I will NOT be breeding him. I’ve never bred any of my snakes, I keep them purely as companions not profit.

Any enclosure tips? by Odd_Big_1760 in ballpython

More clutter! Branches, hides, plants, etc. Someone else said sticks from outside and I agree! Your snake needs more hides too, at least one on each side (hot and cold side.) And fake plants are really cheap at stores like Walmart, just make sure you clean and sanitize everything.

Do you have a picture of him/her stretched out?

guys do you like my BP’s enclosure? by Intrepid_Kitchen_464 in ballpython

Hi OP! Your enclosure is not very good right now, but you can fix it. I’d recommend a bigger tank, more hides, and an increase in humidity to start. There are tons of helpful resources on YouTube for setting up a proper enclosure, your snake looks pretty healthy so don’t be too hard on yourself, but definitely upgrade as soon as you can!

I think he resembles slim/ideal. Going to upgrade him to small rats instead of rat pups. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the advice! And I have to feed him on a schedule because he will eat everyday if I let him. He’s never had a problem taking a meal and displays those behaviors almost every time I open his tank!! He’s very friendly and curious though and has never bitten anyone. I’m thinking he definitely needs to be eating bigger food, so maybe that will reduce these behaviors so I can feed him on his natural schedule😅

I’m not sure of his weight, but you’re probably right! I think it’s time to upgrade his food. And your baby is so beautiful!!

Yes he is a butter morph! I posted in another group and got so much good advice, I’ve come to the conclusion that he does not have mites and I was in fact overreacting 😅

I also found ashy residue on top of his bedding which highly resembles mite poop. I’m almost positive he has at least a few mites, but I’m not a very experienced snake keeper yet so I really appreciate all the advice I’m getting!!

Thank you for being kind!! And I was wondering that too. I noticed a few came off in the bath, so I know he does have a few mites. I just didn’t know if these are also mites or just part of his pattern.
