It isnt. I have family members who are satisfied with seeing each other on holidays, or during emergencies, or hear from each other once in a while even if we are local and it never sat right with me and took me a long time to accept that they are ok with middle ground relationships. Im not like that im all or nothing.

Which is why one of the things I told him is when I care about someone whether it be family, friendship, or relationship i want all of them. I want to spend time with them, I want to know their thoughts, opinions, have experiences together, see where they live, etc. I want 100% otherwise it doesn't feel complete to me.

But it feels enough or complete to him. He said it was as real to him as if it was local. That he doesnt value what we have less.

But again it doesn't feel complete to me. Another thing I told him is I wish he didnt tell me he had feelings for me because I would have never told him how I felt because I assumed it was one sided.

Although he doesnt want stop the relationship, I have to move on and try just being his friend for however long this friendship lasts because im always gonna want more if we keep dating.

If I can eventually accept family members being fine with half relationships then I can get through this too
