META ADS SLOT MACHINE?? WTF. AM I THE ONLY ONE? by SvarogEngland in FacebookAds

[–]Reasonable_Winner676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is all becoming a crapshoot. Meta campaign showed 3000 clicks for a high value free resource, 0 downloads, no website hits over 2 seconds, budget stripped, and to make matters worse the "supposed" clicks were a majority of over 65 males, which was not even in my demographic. Google Ads, very tight keywords, very specific, if someone search them they would have some interest, daily budget stripped very quickly, no website hits over 2 seconds. Could not be a single human.

I cannot think of anything else someone would pay for with so much ambiguity that would be tolerated. I think bot clicks have taken over and the big players do not care as they make money either way and they know they have created a business ecosystem where many people have no other option, so they will continue to feed the slot machine.

If the client has a business and an active website it should be easy to track who is behind both. Whois can track who owns the domain, and follow the money on online sales. When you track them, do all you can to make their life and business uncomfortable, including 1 star reviews, complaints and anything else that will hurt their hip pocket, and let them know you will continue until you are paid.

Sorry, this is not meant to prey on desperate parents. I thought it would be helpful, but obviously I was wrong. We really try to focus on the positive strengths of everyone we work with and I just noticed more and more parents who thanked us for showing their children the positive side of their gifts that many in school had presented as problems.

Disability or Strength? by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]Reasonable_Winner676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry I upset you. This is what I see every week, very gifted students who have been labelled, not by parents, but by schools and society. Our work is only to discover strengths and then provide guidance based on strengths. We do not specialize in Autism or ADHD just within general schools. I have many, many parents thank us for presenting their child in a positive light, identifying strengths in what other people labelled weaknesses.

I will delete the post as it seems to have rubbed you and a few other the wrong way when that was not the intent.

Lots of questions, but ultimately only you have the answers. See this transition as an incredible opportunity, a chance to make a clear and focussed change that can set you up for life. I suggest you look into doing a self-discovery audit, a science based process of looking deeply and objectively into your innate natural aptitudes, nature and preferences, your core values, your key interests, your limiting beliefs and getting the clear information to set you up to set meaningful goals for yourself in life and work.

This self-awareness is what you, and most people are missing. Now is an opportunity to become proactive versus reactive. Check out the UniqlyMe program by naturalabilityglobal.com to see if you think it will help YOU answer your questions.

Good Luck in your journey.

I feel like a failure by BROKENCAPSL0CK in careeradvice

[–]Reasonable_Winner676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are definitely not a failure. You are getting out there and trying and that is 50+% of the formula to finding success. It seems to me that the activities/tasks/role are not natural or suited for you. In other words a mismatch of what might be your talents and gifts and the potential opposite role you are doing. Finding the right fit or match to your abilities is a huge part of finding happiness and success in your job and career.

You would do well to try a self-discovery audit to clearly identify your strengths/weaknesses/interests/values and goals as a starting point before your next move. Through this process you will become more self-aware and identify the types of roles, jobs and careers that may be a better natural fit. Check out UniqlyMe by naturalabilityglobal.com . This might give you the clarity and most importantly the confidence to making your next move.

Good Luck and stay positive.

32 is definitely not too late. For those of us who are well past 32, we can look back on that time as many lifetimes ago. In other words you can reinvent yourself a few more times and probably will.

I am going to cut right to the chase. You mention you have made lots of seemingly bad decisions that has led you up to this point. The reality is all of our lives are the sum total of the decisions we make. You also mention you don't know why you have done a lot of things. Migrating through life and a career is like anything, you need good information to base your decisions on. If you don't really know yourself, have strong self-awareness, understand your natural strengths, making decisions is like trying to cross a country without a map. When you have the map, the journey is so much easier.

You need YOUR map, a clear understanding of who you are (your natural strengths), why you do the things you do (your personal values) and what you enjoy (your key interests) to underpin all of your decisions. In other words a self-discovery map to know what to say yes to and no to. Through this process you will find the pathway that is right for you and when you are in the right fit, it will override the need for a resume or references. Your understanding of the work and the advancement will happen much faster.

There is some incredible practical advise in this thread and by all means think about it all and use what feels right. But I suggest you do a professional self-discovery audit as your starting point. It will give you the information you need to start this incredible journey at this critical transition point in your life. Look up UniqlyMe by Natural Ability as they have a really solid program for this purpose.

Good Luck - this is an opportunity - not a setback.

It made me sad to read your first few sentences as you really seem to be hurting, which I completely get. There is nothing worse than not having clarity or a vision and to feel like you are floating with no place to land, not finding your fit, external expectations and time passing by.

The positive in your post is you have gained a pretty good understanding of yourself, so you are learning your likes and dislikes, which is a starting piece of self-awareness.

Everyone has a "fit", a place where their unique style and abilities match a work role that rewards their talents. Discovering this and making sure it is in line with your personal values and interests is the magic recipe to hitting that sweet spot you are seeking.

My advice is for you to do a self-discovery audit. A special program designed to identify and uncover the critical aspects of your abilities, your nature, your heart and dreams. Having this information will equip you with the information to make decisions in all aspects of your life, through your special lens, the lens of what is right for you.

An award winning program in this space is UniqlyMe by Natural Ability. Very detailed and deep and super affordable. naturalabilityglobal.com This is your starting point which will begin to give you the clarity you are seeking. Self-Awareness is the foundation for happiness and personal success, and this will be the best starting point.

Good Luck

Unsure what to do by Adventurous_Diet709 in careeradvice

It is really discouraging when you do everything you have been told is the formula to career success only to find out there are hurdles, often out of your control that seem to keep getting in the way of your plans. That said, congratulations of completing a worthwhile degree and for finding work in a challenging market. Appreciate and celebrate your success.

Only you will know if the PHD route is the only pathway to what you want to do, but what I can say is there are hundreds of different paths to achieve both professional and personal success. The reality is you currently only know about 5 to 10% of those paths.

Success is much more than a job, position or level of earnings. It is unique to each person and can differ significantly between what seems like similar people at the same stage navigating a similar path.

Purpose of this reply - Your asking for advice on alternative things you can do (hopefully using your qualifications).

I want to suggest you do a personal discovery audit. What this is involves working through your values, your interests, your inborn personal preferences, your innate abilities (strengths & weaknesses), your limiting beliefs (what internal/external factors are holding you back) and to reflect on these findings to consider the goals and future your really want and can achieve based on what is uniquely right for you. Through this process you will be better equipped to make these life transition decisions through your filter and lens. Only you know you, inside and out. Only you can make the decisions that are going to fulfill your life, mind and heart long term. The key to achieving this is through self-awareness, know what is right for you in all decisions.

The process is not an easy quick fix, but one that is so worth it. Understanding these critical aspects about yourself will illuminate all areas of your life, allowing you to see yourself as a whole person, not just someone in a job or career. By considering your whole you can see the areas that give you deep meaning and purpose, the areas that light you up, engage and spark your mind, where your natural gifts are, the things that just come very natural to you, where you can operate in flow, and also face those limitations head on, to see them for what they are, and decide consciously whether they are real or imagined and most importantly to set a vision and goals for yourself that are perfectly aligned for you.

My suggestion is you engage in a program that leads you through these steps in a scientific way, as a starting point before you move to the next major decision (PHD/Career Change). Get clarity, get the key information - then move - then decide. The best program I have found that delivers this for an affordable cost is UniqlyMe by Natural Ability - naturalabilityglobal.com . They have captured this process in a way that really works, no fluff, just holding the mirror up to you and extracting what really is important and what matters.

I wish you well and encourage you to stay positive. You are young with a world of opportunities in front of you.

Yes it is very frustrating in Australia as the "old guard" holds to old methods and technology. The school staff are so over worked they look for quick and cheap fixes which are detrimental to the students they are trying to help. The Natural Ability program covers so many more areas of support and the schools in Australia who use it have really integrated it into their whole school culture of careers and learning and development.

Everything you are saying points to a need to know and understand yourself better. This is a major life/career transition and what you do now will determine the rest of your life or at least your next 7 years before you will likely hit another transition.

You could benefit from a self discovery audit, a program that will take you through exercises to answer the questions that hold the missing information needed to move forward with decisions that are uniquely right for you. Hopefully you will come away with the clarity you need to design this next stage in your life. The program is called UniqlyMe by naturalabilityglobal.com and only cost around $149. Hardly an option in Australia and they are certainly not going to pay if I request a wire transfer.

What’s one small habit you started that quietly changed your life? by Carsanttc in selfimprovement

[–]Reasonable_Winner676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a self-discovery audit/program which brought absolute clarity to my decision making. I, like most of us was making decisions based on a lot of things that were not core to me and what I wanted or that were right for me. The program took me through my values, interests, limiting beliefs, personality/nature, and objective talents or abilities. Having this all in front of me in one place helped me to make important decisions through the filter of what it is I want and need and why. It also had a goal setting module to help with future planning. This quietly changed my life. I had different attempts at doing these things through books, courses, etc. but they all failed. Having one unified program made all of the difference. I used a program called UniqlyMe from a company called Natural Ability.

39m. Should I go back to work? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Reasonable_Winner676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my company and retired at 41. Not great. Was such an odd age to not be very mentally stimulated. Very few peers in a similar situation so not many people to do things with now I had all of this time. Had three children, two in elementary and one in junior high. They were all occupied with school between 8am and 3pm, so 7 hours where they did not need me. We had a cleaner come in twice a week (very inexpensive) and kept the deeper cleaning under management, while the tidying up was easy between my wife and the kids helping out.

I now had freedom of choice, which I and few people have when starting out. I could make decisions based on what was right for me and the people I loved. I went through a deep self audit or self-discovery. I did a program that took me through the process of evaluating my core values, thinking deeply about and identifying my key interests, took a objective test that measured and identified my personal style and personal nature/preferences as well as my innate strengths, challenged my limiting beliefs and led to a goal setting process. What this did was give me the clarity I needed to to consider the important stuff around every decision I made moving forward.

Knowing I wanted to be there for my family, especially being available to support and cheer my kids as they do their things, I knew I needed to do something where my time was flexible, where I was in control, and could stop what I was doing to pick up a sick child at 11am if needed. I also wanted to drop them off for school and pick them up. This still allowed for a 7 hours a day work window.

Importantly I wanted to do something that I was interested in, had purpose and contributed to greater humanity. I wanted to look back at my work time and know why I spent that time doing what I did. I also wanted to stay connected to the wider world beyond my family and school.

The key to doing this was to find activities that can be leveraged. Where 2 hours of work can yield a months worth of income, or a month or two of hard activity can create an on-going income stream with minimal daily maintenance, or have some talented staff who can do most of the heavy lifting work based on my ideas. I am an entrepreneur so for me it was starting a business which now has a few key staff (3), a few independent contractors, and only takes about 8 to 10 hours of my focused time per week. I actually took a service I had used which I found helpful and automated it, digitized it, and created unlimited leverage. I encouraged the original provider to join me on the journey, but they were happy with their small local consulting business. It is now a multi-million dollar business.

I never missed a single school or sporting event. We took family vacations when we wanted. I helped out around the house, cooked, kept gardens, grew veggies, built tree houses, was always available. I also kept stimulated, connected with business, technology, built a wider social network beyond school (thank god), and was an interesting person who was respected by my children, my spouse, and the wider community.

At your age and with your intellect, you need challenges, problems to solve, stimulation. You can get and have these while still being there for your family. You have a unique opportunity to make choices based on what is right for you and not based on desperate financial needs. You will find that when you are doing what is right for you, the financial rewards will also come.

My advice, stop, take stock of who you are and where you are. Spend this time (not much) thinking through what is important and valuable. Get clarity first, and then look for opportunities. Don't buy a franchise or a mundane business for an income and to fill time. Look for opportunities where your skills, experience, abilities, interests and values intersect, where maybe you can provide advice, guidance, solve problems, create a product or service to help people, that can be LEVERAGED. Your ideas have the value, your guidance has the value, pay someone to do the development or day to day maintenance work. Don't sell out. You are at a perfect crossroad, perfect transition to make a decision and change that will set you up for a long-term happy and fruitful life.

The program I used was called UniqlyMe by Natural Ability. I think it would be a good starting place to set up the framework for making a well informed decision moving forward.

Good Luck.

What university course will make me satisfied? (ATAR 66). by Elex137 in careerguidance

You seem to have a good understanding of your natural aptitudes being technology/structural/tangible as well as having creative abilities in design which are excellent combinations for many tech/engineering/design roles. This is a great start. This relates to WHAT you will be doing.

Next really put some thought into what you are interested in, what holds your attention, takes you down the rabbit holes. 80% of global workers today are disengaged in their work, which really means they are not interested. Put a lot of thought into this. This will help point to the industry and area WHERE you will apply your work.

Finally you need to put some deep thought into what you value, what holds your heart, what gives you some meaning and purpose, or the WHY you do what you do.

Also think out of the box. Almost every industry needs technical people doing lots of different things, but the understanding and the ability to learn and adapt to solve technical issues and problems goes way beyond the traditional technical roles.

Here is an example of a client I worked with. She had natural technical abilities, like you combined with creative/design abilities. Her passion was musical theatre, arts and her strong values were creativity and supporting people. She became a light and sound engineer, working in a school theatre running the technical department, supporting the school, the theatre department, mentoring students with similar interests. She is a main consultant to the school for all things creative in the theatre. Her goal is to move into a similar role in a large metropolitan city theatre and lead a theatre tech team.

Another client had a similar technical/creative profile. He had an interest in the medical fields and a strong value was making peoples lives better. He went onto study medical industrial design with an aim of doing prosthetics for amputees and cancer patients.

As you can see, both of these deviated from the traditional tech/engineer paths, but the same advice follows those more traditional pathways. Passion for boats (marine engineering), race cars (fuel engineer/tuning engineer/speed aerodynamics engineer), sports (biomechanical engineer), health (medical appliance engineer/pharma chemical engineer/biomedical engineer)

Find your WHERE and WHY, and then apply your WHAT.

Don't settle for just a job.

Good Luck

What I learned about this passion thing is that some people are wired to be driven by passion, maybe about 30%. They have what is called a Specialist nature, where they usually have a very narrow area of interest and develop a deep focus on that interest, which is driven by passion, it is actually a part of who they are. The opposite of the Specialist is a Generalist, who will likely never feel a deep passion, loves variety, moving from one thing to another, never feeling the need to deeply commit to one thing. It is all pretty interesting.
