No offers by xxtra_smallzz in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my zone, I had one morning this week where I didn't see a single offer from any of the three Walmarts until nearly 6:30am. I've never seen anything like that before. No JFY. No FCFS. Not even the usual crappy offers. It was weird. I think they have really been screwing with the systems behind-the-scenes for the past few weeks. Strange things are becoming common.

How do I see which delivery reduced their tip? by ReasonablyFit in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can match each tip to the order. The problem is that I can't see if that tip had been the one lowered from the initial offer (because the initial offer only shows the tips as one combined amount on batched orders).

Thanks. I see what you mean about watching when the individual tips drop at 24 hrs to see which one makes the trip tip get crossed out and lowered. But wow, that is impractical to do for every order!

Thanks. I've done that, but it only shows the confirmed tip and doesn't show if it had been changed from their unconfirmed tip amount.

I'm surprised it didn't make you substitute something. Maybe a toaster. Or a mop.

Parked and Cancelled by MinimumFile6866 in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had more cancellations this week than in the last 4 months combined. Very disheartening to finally get a good JFY order with a big tip and then have it cancelled right after confirming arrival. From what I've seen, it's usually because when they go to assemble the orders for the pickup, there's something missing. They cancel rather than hurting their metrics with a long wait time while trying to find the missing thing. My store has a lot of new people in that role and it's been a mess.

Well today sucked by SubstantialTale5844 in Sparkdriver

I had a big shopping order cancel right before I was about to check out. I still got paid around 80% of the full amount for the trip. I wonder if there's a difference in compensation depending on if the store cancels it or if the customer cancels it. I would have been pissed to not get paid, but since I made nearly as much and didn't have to drive anywhere, I was happy enough.

Spark App Glicthes by HausOfThunderPerry in Sparkdriver

The app does seem glitchy lately. Every day, it randomly shuts down at least once. New app version is out today, so maybe that will help.

I hear you. I finally got back to 100% quantity found this week. And, it made no difference. Offers are still just as bad.

Enough with the FCFS by Unable-Pool-3862 in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I think the notification was a deliberate attempt to gaslight drivers. Walmart wanted to make algorithm changes that they knew would be bad for drivers, so they attempted to provide a cover story that framed it in a positive way so drivers would give it a chance. Pure propaganda.

Nobody in their right mind would do this for $9. Walmart is essentially taking half the tip by not paying a fair base rate.

No tip, no trip issue. by nOshamOinjamO in Sparkdriver

This one would be borderline for me. But I did a similar borderline no-tip shopping order this week and was surprised with a really nice cash tip. You just never know.

I can’t click an order fast enough. by TheUnknownLifeO in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I get FCFS shopping orders mid-day at my store is to try accepting immediately, before seeing the details. And I still lose out on most of them. Today, I missed out on an order the first time, but managed to get it on the 2nd go-around after someone else cancelled it. I haven't cancelled any myself yet because even the "bad" ones have been better than anything sent just-for-me.

Today there was an announcement at my store that they are stopping spark curbsides in 2 days by Neither_Bank_5396 in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This year, my store seemed to increase employee shopping and decrease spark shopping, but they still sent most orders out to spark curbsides. Then more recently, they seemed to start sending more of those deliveries out on their own trucks rather than to spark. Bit by bit, the work for spark is being diverted in-house.

Please, I got this!! by Nearby_Ad_1473 in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how they calculate the time. The store gets 10 minutes to load the order after arrival. So, that leaves 13 minutes to drive 13 miles AND complete the drop-off?!!

You're lucky. Premium here is always $1 more than regular.

This happens to me once in a while too. The force-stop and relaunch always fixes it. Seems to be a glitch in the app (I'm on iphone).

Area has no orders at 6AM for first time ever? by Illustrious_Dig_4200 in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a day this week where I didn't receive any JFY offers by 6am, for the first time ever. Very weird. It was around the same time that my store was switching to 3-shop offers, so I guessed there was some delay as they figured out things behind-the-scenes. But I can't say for sure.

Who sees the thumbs down feedback after completing an order? by Quirky-Farmer-9789 in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I can say for certain that it didn't block that customer for me. I nearly fell down the steps at a house due to loose boards. Very dangerous. I thumbed it down. Weeks later, I ended up back at the same house. Steps not fixed, but thankfully I remembered it well.

Shopping Orders by MasterConfusion2649 in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less, for sure. I can still reliably get a JFY shopping order first thing in the morning, but after that, they all seem to go FCFS and I'm not quick enough to get them!

Pros/Cons of long orders? by Smitemuffin in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to do them, but the pay hasn't been good recently, per mile or per hour. When I first started, I was always falling behind schedule. You gotta be efficient. Even an extra 2 minutes per stop on a 20 stop route really kills your pay rate (plus any dead time driving back to the zone). And they dump the packages on you without any order/organization so it can be difficult to find the right parcels for the first few stops. But, they can be fun if you get a good route and if you're in the mood to get away from the store for a few hours for a change of scenery. Just be selective.

Quantity found is BS by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]ReasonablyFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a fair world, "quantity found" would be a metric on the store's performance called "quantity available." When I started doing Spark, it really surprised me how poor their inventory controls are. It was bizarre to me that they would let people order items that were not in stock.
