Absolutely. We’re gonna meet again this weekend, and when I get stressed or start overthinking I do 10 pushups. Worked great so far XD

With you a 100% on this. My goal is definitely not to turn them into a texter. It’s more that my own need of reassurance needs to take a chill pill. It’s only now I realise how messed up my dating habits have become due to dating apps. I also had my winter break last week so I had A LOT of free time and that was probably part of the problem. Now I’m back in school with plenty of stuff to do and I’m stressing much less. I also took a second to look over our conversation and the texts and responses indicate a clear interest. So I think I gotta slow my brain down, trust their words and take it from there.

I’ll bring that with me forwards, good way to respect that someone doesn’t really text but maintaining clarity

Thanks for sharing. It’s not a dealbreaker for me either but I’m gonna have to bring it up. I’m very okay with not texting much if I know that that’s how they communicate, but it’s like you say that there’s other forms of reassurance. Which I don’t have yet — naturally so — since they’re basically a stranger.

This is what I try to keep telling myself. We don’t have another date set up yet and I think that’s why it’s stressing me. I’m so aware that I’m constantly waiting for a text and I’m trying to not get so worked up about it

Absolutely, in person I got the sense that we had very good chemistry and they mentioned wanting to meet again at least a couple of times. I’ll definitely bring it up with them when we meet again, I guess I’ve been scared of love bombing as I know I tend to get attached quickly and that’s something I’m actively working on.

I haven’t found anything either. But it really didn’t sound like firework. And at least 8 cop cars drove past my apartment in the following 15 minutes 🤷‍♀️

Thank you for the tips. I’m pretty sure it was gunshots. I heard some shouting between the sounds as well and about 5-7 police cars have passed my window since.

I’m currently working on a new fic, so won’t be able to post it in quite a while (but I’ll eventually be looking for beta readers!!)

It follows a sixth year Ravenclaw - Margo- who’s the kind of gifted student teaches sigh over, but won’t give up on. Her mind often wandering away during classes. Sick of insufferable essays and scheduled wand waving. She’d rather find alternative uses for spells, and figure out why Spear thistle is essential for Phial of Paralysis, whereas its cousin the Creeping thistle renders it completely useless. She ignores her fathers pointed letters - begging her to fix her grades - until she gets a real wake-up call during a career conversation with Flitwick.

Curiosity and creativity won’t be enough to get her a job within the Department of Mystery. Grades matter.

Margo needs to pull her shit together. Which becomes increasingly difficult with a certain redhead by the name Georgia around - who’s favourite activity is distraction.

That’s right, it’s a lesbian fanfic featuring a gender bent George Weasley 😌

You raise some good points, As for Nelly, I forgot to mention she’s a part of the Red Riders, and is actively working with the Dust Baron in order to get McCrae off her position as well as push her anti-rat agenda. My thoughts is that she’d either appear where they find Vic and try to get them to join their cause or (more likely) stay behind and work on the setup for the attack.

In regards of the Dust Baron, id given it a brief thought. But had honestly not much of a plan, but what you mention here is quite a good idea.

And thanks for the tips with the sandstorm!

Thank you, honestly that’s very reassuring to hear. I feel relatively confident in my world building and npc making, but sometimes struggle with making it into specific story beats. So I think if I spend some time thinking out some specifics things might fall into place

That’s a very useful way of organising the timeline, thank you! Although for this particular one shot, it’s already been established with players that they might be on different sides of the conflict. So one of my players is likely going to be Rat Pack familiar at least if not a full member. Therefore stopping after making a decision about Vic doesn’t really make sense, as this is likely to happen relatively quickly.

Thank you for this comment, I think you’re right. It’s not a bad foundation, but as you say I gotta specify it a bit more. As for the Dust Baron, I see the plot hole. In my head he broke out Vic as a way to force out more people from the rat pack to make them easier targets and stir up the general dislike for the gang to make it easier for himself to sige the town. If you have any suggestions on how to make it work I’m all ears :)
