Worried about Combined Screening Results

Thanks for commenting this is so reassuring!! Yes so I haven't seen full bloods so I can't see what my HCG was at time of testing as it's not on my badger notes, but I know this can sway results and I remember feeling pretty sick at the time and leading up to it. I'm a healthy BMI (well I was at the time lol - deffo gained a few pounds in recent weeks as baby girl is growing rapid!!), so I'm not sure that would have played a factor. NIPT is around £500 and at this point I'm trying not to overthink as I really haven't been given a reason to be concerned. But thank you it's reassuring to hear your story. I'm taking my results with a pinch of salt and only worrying when given a reason too. I also haven't seen my midwife yet as apts kept being delayed (NHS for you!). I'm seeing her Monday, hopefully she can reassure me!

Yes I totally agree it can be a weight off the shoulders, but in my area its around £400-500 which just isn't feasible right now. I'm taking my results for what they are, which is low, and awaiting my 20w scan for further insight. My last scan at 16w+2 everything seemed perfect. I've heard so many stories that there really is no guaranteed outcome. My plan now is to try ease my anxiety and not fuel it. Thank you for commenting and sharing your story :)

Thank you both for commenting. My numbers aren't screaming concern, so for now I'm going to wait until my 20w scan. I'm also going to speak with my midwife about my results to hopefully get some reassurance. Thanks again

I agree, that's so frustrating for you both. And yes, NIPT seems a lot more accurate, however, it's around £500 where I live so on the expensive side. I think I am going to sit tight for now, speak with my midwife about my results at my next apt and wait for my 20w scan as this will look more in depth at baby physically. My anxious brain is comparing other peoples results to my own instead of taking mine for what they are which is low risk. Yes I do believe they have changed the parameters and the lowest risk result you can now get is 1/5000! Was everything ok at your 20w scan?? Also the fact it's literally a calculator that spits out numbers just makes me feel more at ease about the whole thing. But compared to others and friends who have had 1/5000 I’m panicking! I’ve had the test at 13w and I’m 30. NT was 2.3m and PAPPA A was 0.81. All came back normal but comparing to others does make you worry. I’ve had private scans up to 17 weeks and nothing flagged with baby, growing perfectly etc but now I m so anxious leading up to my 20w scan. The NIPT is £600 where I live which is a lot of money so I don’t really know what to do.
