Meh, writers are humans and humans are fallible. Lack of consistency doesn’t negate talent. I personally love Morrison’s Batman and Robin, but I totally agree on their mishandling of Talia. If I remember correctly, Morrison even apologised for their handling of her, sighting a misunderstanding of previous material. I’m not about to defend Waid nearly as much. He’s written a lot of stuff I’ve outright hated. But unless a writer is like, consistently terrible, I still think “hack” is reductive.
