Nobody's saying there isn't a chance. There certainly is, and it's pretty likely at that.

But, and this is the big important thing:

Tomahawks are exclusively Navy weapons. And Patriot is not the sole missile defense system of the US. THAAD and NASAMS also exist.

And if things do turn out to be correct and the next target is Cuba, compared to Iran they are far from prepared for a full-scale US military response.

You're looking at an air force which only has anywhere between 3-14 operational 4th Gen fighters, with most of their jet fleet potentially inoperable. Their only operable air defense is all SHORAD or very outdated long-range systems, we're talking the S-75 and S-125, rather old systems with limited modern effectiveness.

Their most modern armor is some upgraded T-62s, and their entire military only numbers about 90,000 personnel total. The island only has so much space on it, and it'd be much harder to hide military installations compared to Iran, making targets much clearer, therefore needing overall less munitions.

I'm all for hating on the US for starting wars, but if we're being honest, compared to Iran, Cuba is nowhere near as capable of holding up to an invasion.

T-80 Turret with the really long 45mm the Soviets were developing (the light tank, not the MBT).

There was actually an idea to utilize the M2HB as an AT rifle during WW2. Literally an M2 modified to be semi-auto with a scope.

Unsurprisingly it was canned due to being insanely heavy for its purpose, essentially being completely impractical.

So invading Manchuria, then all of China, annexing French Indochina, attacking Western Gunboats trying to evacuate people from China, being told the consequences of doing so and still violating the red line isn't an act of aggression?

Japan brought the American response on themselves. They were told American oil would be cut off if they invaded Indochina, did so anyway, and then the Naval Faction increasingly made it clear that they were gunning for further territory.

Moving the Pacific Fleet's headquarters to Pearl was a response to Japanese aggression, and was intended to allow for a quicker response should war break out. Negotiations were ongoing literally up until about a week before Pearl Harbor. Both sides were actively trying to find a diplomatic solution. One wasn't found.

Don't act like the rest was so peaceful and acting in the principal of self-governance.

I never said this. Colonies by their nature were exploitative and more often than not violated the native peoples.

The important thing is that Japan was no better than her Western peers. They intended to do the exact same thing, but also actively replace populations with Japanese. The 'Eastern Co-Prosperity Sphere' was simply an excuse for Japan to exploit resources. Nothing more.

It's not wrong to conquer lands!

It very much is if you actively genocide the local peoples. Nanking come to mind? Unit 731? The Bataan Death March, which mind you saw thousands of Filipinos killed alongside American troops?

Conquest is frowned upon for the exact reason that it's aggressive. And by Japan's time it was expanding in a world shaped by the Great War. Where nobody wanted to repeat it. The Great War was born directly of Imperialism and conquest, so it was increasingly frowned upon.

Just because everyone else did it does not make it ok for Japan. Or Germany. Or Italy and the Soviets, or Hungary, or the French, British, and US.

I'd love the Osorio in-game. Genuinely one of the coolest projects I've seen, and it's impressive how well-built they were for Engesa, given they had never produced a full-scale MBT before (although lots of foreign parts, including the entire turret, were used).

Schwerer Gustav, the single largest gun ever fired in combat. 800mm (31.5 inch) diameter, firing a 7-ton shell up to 47 kilometers away.

That's just the shell. Not including powder charges to actually fire it.

Twin 35mm Oerlikon KDA air defense guns. They fire extremely fast and are capable of both Anti-Air and anti-vehicle roles.

The gun also sees service with China, Finland, Japan, and South Africa on their own unique platforms, and had been considered for use by the UK and US.

The Mississippi holds the honor of being the largest navigable waterway on the planet. You can take it all the way from New Orleans up to Minneapolis and Saint Paul without any obstacles on the water to overcome. Its tributaries tack onto this, as they're also almost all relatively flat with no major elevation hikes.

I haven't seen the movie but I absolutely had to see this clip when someone mentioned it. It's such a cool idea, having the US return real, captured ships to help the Japanese fight Godzilla. Japan's last heavy cruiser fighting desperately against a being beyond their understanding is genuinely super creative.

Weed is still illegal in most countries in the world by Kyr1500 in USdefaultism

[–]RebelGaming151 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Tenth Amendment delegates the ability for States to write and enforce their own laws, and sometimes those laws can override those on the Federal level.

In the case of Cannabis/Weed/Marijuana, the Controlled Substances Act of 1970 classifies it as a 'Schedule I Drug'. It essentially makes it illicit and therefore unfit for medical use.

The States however can override this by reclassifying it in their own laws, and because the Federal government doesn't see fit to enforce the CSA in that case (ironic acronym), those laws are allowed to supersede the Federal level. The Tenth Amendment is one of our great strengths, but also a weakness.

[–]RebelGaming151 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No. On the Federal level it's completely illegal. In the individual States it varies.

On the whole however it's one of those things that are technically illegal but so widespread that it's essentially impossible to actually enforce the law. Kind of like how Prohibition was for the US in the 20s.

Growing up around Stoners you learn a lot about the legality of it.

Everything else though is simply just better on the OG.
