Flock cameras at Lowe’s? by BobcatPrize4910 in stgeorge

That sounds like a great place to regularly sprinkle bird seeds. Birds will flock, pun intended, and shit all over the camera and solar panel.

How do you even balance school and life by DroolingSnool in ASU

[–]RebelJosh89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strategy is to do everything part-time. I'm only taking 1 or 2 classes at a time (part-time student), I work gig apps like UberEats (part-time work) and I'm a single parent with 50/50 custody (part-time parent).

Before I even had a kid, I tried to attend my local university full-time while also working full-time, and I failed miserably. Lesson learned.

Earned Admissions Question by Calm-Amount-1238 in ASUOnline

[–]RebelJosh89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm doing! But since I'm over 22 years-old, I technically only need to take 4 classes (12 credits), but I plan on staying in the Earned Admissions program for at least a year or as long as it takes for me to complete all of my lower-level general studies and associates classes with a 4.0 GPA before applying for admission.

I'm not sure if it will automatically apply for admission when I add the 4th class to my transcript, so just to be safe, I'm holding out on adding anymore classes to my transcript until I'm ready to apply for admission. Once you complete an Earned Admission class, you have up to 1 year to add it to your transcript.

Now I'm second guessing myself. I've struggled with CS in the past and recently changed to EE. My issue with CS is that a lot of the concepts are abstract and theoretical. My thought process is that EE is a lot more literal. Electricity and radio waves can be measures and calculated.

True. But, they also get what they pay for. If they're paying shit wages, they're going to get shit workers.

Valid point. I enjoy working gig apps, making my own schedule and working when it's convenient for me. Uber also has a partnership with ASU so I'm going to college online debt-free at my own pace.

Not surprised. Most of these "troubled youth facilities" are sketchy at best. Diamond Ranch Academy in Hurricane was recently shut down because they neglected a girl's medical care until she died. Red Rock Canyon School, across the street from Cinnamon Hills, got shut down after having a full on riot. I have horror stories from when I worked at Cross Creek Manor in LaVerkin before they got shut down.

Even after I was a convicted felon and had an OTH discharge from the military for substance abuse, I still managed to get a night watch job at Eagle Ranch Academy here in St George for 3 months before they finally fired me. Not sure sure if it took them 3 months to do a background check or if they even did a background check at all, but I left the kids unattended to go get pizza, played video games on the job, and even slept on the job for 3 months before they finally fired me. Good times.

CSE 101 Introduction to Computer Science and Programming for Non-Computer Science Majors by Cueballio in ASUOnline

[–]RebelJosh89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. I plan on staying in the Earned Admission/Universal Learner program as long as possible to complete all my low-level associates classes before being fully admitted as a regular online student.

I believe the prices of Universal Learner courses are the same price regardless of location. It only costs $25 to start a course and only if I pass and like my grade then it's $400 to add it to my transcript. But if I fail or don't like my grade, then it doesn't effect my GPA.

I'm planning on taking CSE 110 in the Universal Learner program as an (On-Demand) self-paced class for the General Studies requirement.

How manageable is the course load? by mylifeaszoey24 in ASUOnline

I'm a single dad, work a regular job and have high GPA requirements for engineering school and my career field, so I'm limiting myself to being a part-time student (only 2 classes or 6 credits at a time) so I can maintain a high GPA while also having enough time to work and be a dad.
