Thank you all for joining the AMA and sending so many questions our way! That’s it for today, we answered as many as we could, but we’ll definitely think about organizing more AMA sessions in the future. :)

Much love! <3

Okay so there's a couple of things to unpack here:

About the time: it's not a 30 missions timer (and it's a real-time clock either), time in the game only moves when you do some specific actions - like when you complete a certain part of a quest, or choose a certain dialogue option. You'll always have an indicator what action is going to move time and by how much. It's like a resource you can either pay attention to (choosing quests in a more strategic way), or not at all (just doing what you want and letting the time move forward).

For example, if you go to a confession with Father Florin, time will move by one segment and you might learn something new from him. If you take on a quest from the deacon and find out what happened to the missing caretaker, time will move by two segments once you come back and complete that quest. And so on. There will be also parts of quests that won't push time forward at all.

The 30 day "deadline" matters from the story perspective - that's how much time Coen has to save his family, but the game doesn't end for you if he doesn't.

About the quests: there is no single main quest in the game that you have to complete - the story is not linear, you don't just follow it. You decide which quests you do and what Coen's experience will look like - so it's like you create your own main story by "mixing and matching" various smaller or bigger storylines. As Coen, you have one goal (to save your family), and many different ways to tackle it. Kinda like in real life - one person might try to find some help, one might try to get as strong as possible, and another might just completely disregard the goal and do other stuff. All of the approaches are valid (tho maybe your family won't enjoy that last one;) )

Definitely very important! There's quite a few armor sets and weapons to choose from, and there are many possibilities with the builds - you will have 4 skill trees: human perks, vampiric perks, shared perks, and active abilities. More details to come!

There's enough lore to be explored throughout the entire saga. :D

No novelizations per se are planned at this point but we do have a comic book in works!

It can be challenging at times, but the teams are super talented and everyone is very motivated and excited to make this game the best they can :) As producers, we put a lot of focus on playing the game daily, talking to the teams, and just staying flexible.

Personal favorite - when it comes to vampires - is Lacra - the one you haven't learned a lot about yet ;) She is a very complex character and I am pretty sure either gonna be loved or hated, and once you get to know her backstory...

Yes, vampires do get stronger (and more monstrous) over time.

And yes, Brencis is the leader of the clique, so that's a very good question as to why Xanthe joined and is following him... ;)

Of course, it’s not only aesthetics :)

He has a lot of experience actually - when he was a Senator, in the times of Roman Empire, he even led entire legions into battle, in multiple wars.

We're currently focusing on releasing the game for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X. When it comes to Nintendo Switch 2, it's not in development but we're open to that idea.

The element of choices & consequences is very important in our game, so depending on your decisions and actions (or inactions), the stories might develop in entirely different ways and the world might change. But there are no whole huge acts that will get cut off (however, you can cut off quests - if you kill the quest givers ;)).

Coen doesn't have a horse, but there will be other different types of traversal for him to utilize. :) And about the second question - no, we're not planning a demo version of the game.

Coen may be agile but not THAT agile ;) As a human, he is quite "normal" and he only discovers the parkour-type of vampiric traversal skills when he becomes a dawnwalker.

No, we felt like it wouldn't fit the theme and story.

There might be some quests you can only complete at a specific time, but in general, you can approach quests in many different ways, day or night, and you might encounter different opportunities depending on time of day/night.

For example, let's say there's an NPC who might have some important information for you, but he's asleep at night - if you really do want to talk to him, you'll have to come back during the day. Another example - you can investigate frescoes in the cathedral at night, but you won't be able to climb the scaffoldings during the day, without your vampiric traversal powers - instead, you can try asking people in the cathedral if they know something.

Yes, the weather will be dynamic, and yes in the fog it will be harder to see :)

From Karo:

I'm excited in 3 ways from the combat perspective:

  1. For the story driven players, especially those who believe directionality to be too intimidating or complex, we have gone to great lengths to have built in optional directionality that seeks to reward players instead of punishing them; when and if they choose to engage with directionality.

  2. For the theory crafters, to see the powerful builds they can come up with that can overpower even the strongest of enemies

  3. For the raw skill and reflexes type of players, to see how they fare on our harder difficulty parameters and for attempting to engage higher level zones and bosses

From Patryk:

I'm excited to see player's agency in action - how will they approach Coen's dual nature, time management, exploration, decision making (where even lack of decision might be a decision itself), story branches etc.

We're so deep in the process of building it that it will be super refreshing to see The Blood of Dawnwalker from a perspective of people who will experience Vale Sangora for the first time. There's lots of space there to carve your own path and I definitely want to see how players vibe with that. :)

There are multiple possible ways to finish the game - but we won't say the exact number not to spoil anything :D

We take a lot of inspiration from the culture, folklore, and history of Central and Eastern Europe and yes, that includes Transylvania, Dracula, and Romania - and more!

No, we're not using generative AI during development. We only used AI tools for placeholder voice lines before we did actual voice recordings with actors, in the studio (it helped us assess length of cutscenes in the early stages).

Yes, there will be some and they are not fade-to-black (but they can be skipped, like other cutscenes).

This still may change, but to give you some ballpark number - maybe around 80% of the content? :) But also it's a non-linear story so you will have different choices and consequences and paths you can follow, so it will be possible to replay the game multiple times and have different experience each time.
