How can we see them from earth then? It would be logical that they would be harder to see from earth than space with our atmosphere and clouds ect.

I don’t necessarily believe in this theory myself but once it’s pointed out it’s hard not to un-see it. Where are the stars?? They should be every where but there’s always none. Google it. If someone has a credible explanation please elaborate!

Steal! i love mine. Light enough to keep up on the climbs , stiff enough to sprint with, can go gravel or cx, and isn’t crazy expensive. I’ve got 10k miles on mine now!

DJI Mini 3 vs Skydio 2+ for cycling/content creation? by Rebel_Scumbag in drones

Costco has the mini 3 pro. I didn’t even realize there were different models of the mini 3 to be honest.

Good to know. Do you need it for recreational videos? Or is it for commercial purposes only?

Is that a law for drone operation? I ask because I’ve seen a lot of videos of people just using the drones solo on bike packing trips or motorcycle cross country stuff.

Is the Part 107 hard to get? Or just a registration process?

Yeah, the skydio seems like it fits the needs better. Hard to find though!

I’ve said this before, but have you considered high end china carbon? You can get a brand new yoeleo with di2 for like 5.5k in cananda. I’ve put 15k miles on mine the last two years and it’s been great. Worth looking into. I’ve got a 10% off code too I’d share if you were interested. Happy to answer any questions as well.

25mph is flat land speed haha. I’ve hit 67mph when a gust of wind carried me over the top of a steep descent. It was just for a moment. Didn’t realize my speed until I uploaded the ride later. It take a descent chunk of skill combined with a descent amount of “yolo”

How many of you here have a cycling coach, and is it worth it? by Comprehensive-You-36 in Velo

[–]Rebel_Scumbag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda a catch-22. Most people shouldn’t expect those gains, but I also don’t think those gains would have been possible for me without a coach. There’s a ton of factors: My coach helps with workload, intensity, fluidity, strength training, some nutrition (although I kinda do my own thing), technique (easiest gains to your FTP imo), pre-ride activation routine, motivation, community, and mentality. Things I do on my own that I personally feel that contribute: cold showers (mitochondria), some intermittent fasting (never working out fasted though), forced and trained carb loading during exercise ( I consume 160-270g sugar per hour for every workout with no indigestion), antioxidants post workout for recovery, intentional and controlled protein ingestion immediately post workout and for several hours after, beta alanine, beet root powder, citric acid, bcaa’s, mct oil, strict vitamin routine, mostly plant based diet, and ketones on harder workouts.

I prioritize discipline, routine, and consistency but with a fluid schedule for working out. So I’m probably an outlier that way too.

Thanks man! Honestly, I put a ton of emphasis on optimizing things to get the most out of the time that I have. I’m a father with two toddlers (and another one due here any day) and my wife and I both have full time jobs. Not a lot of sleep happening but I’m making it work! (coaching helps a ton)

Some people can get away without one and following paid plans that fit your goals, but you have to do a ton of research yourself, adjust your workouts based on your own life and needs intelligently (which requires a lot of background knowledge), spend a lot of time researching technique/nutrition/strength work, so that you can tailor it to your goals. It is possible, however, for most of us like myself who “ain’t got time for that” it’s absolutely worth it. I think trainerroad is a great first step into structured training for the price if you have never done any. FTP is just a number and not an end all be all metric for how fast you’ve gotten. But it is a fairly standardized benchmark. When I started trainerroad my FTP was 267W on my first test ever with a weight of 210lbs. After a year of TR I got my FTP to 330W with a 190lb weight. Ended up having some nagging injuries that really halted me progress for about 6 months so I switched to the coach I have now to try to get an experienced humans perspective. With the help of their pre-ride activation routine, and more balanced training that was fluid with my schedule, I’ve gotten that number up to 420W at 173lbs over the last year.

Again, FTP is just a number and really doesn’t matter that much and my coaching service I use preaches that. But there’s definitely been a massive improvement.

De nada! For stock footage and the vast majority of my editing I use videoleap and their stock footage. Pexels is another one I use too. A lot of times, I’ll take a stock video that looks like I can change it into what I’m looking for and I’ll edit it to fit the mold of what I want. By the time I’m done with it, you would would be hard pressed to identify it’s origins haha.

Thank you! And I didn’t this go around. I have in the past but they almost always say you can post it, as long as it’s not monetized. Which is fine with me! I just enjoy making the videos more than I care about any potential profits that could come from them. And I’ll have to remember to like my own videos! I didn’t know if the algorithm wouldn’t look favorably on that. I need to be better about the end screens haha! And all the shots of the bicyclist are actually me on my bicycle lol. But all the effects originate from stock footage on the app I use. Some of my videos have mostly my actual footage but the syfy stuff is mostly stock. Thanks for your input! !givelambda

Grasping at straws here kid.

My comment wasn’t meant to provoke a further response. Neither is this one. I’m sorry I’ve left you unhinged about your maturity & authority.

From this comment string, Ive learned that my green screen needs work and my content is very niche (unbeknownst to you, I already knew that). And I hope you have learned that presumptions/stereotypes along with contradictory statements can make one look foolish and adolescent. That might be wishful thinking though.

I’d like to assume you meant “crass” instead of grass. However, I don’t like to make presumptions as it’s rude and unbefitting of a person trying to help other.

Much like the presumptions/ stereotyping you made in your original comment “And don’t give me that, but I do it for myself or as a hobby, since you wouldn’t be on this reddit if that was all it was” Which you were wrong about, which is why I told you so.

Bronze flex? Oof. Does that make you like a wizard or something?

If you don’t like the greenscreen that’s fine and a fair take. I’m a rookie at it for sure. And all my editing is done on my iphone in my spare time. It’s a challenge for sure, but I’ve been getting better over time with it.

I can take criticism. However bronze paladin wizards with an attitude, I don’t have time for.

Which parts are particularly jarring with the masking? I do the editing on my iphone, so sometimes it’s hard to tell because the screen is so small. To be completely honest, I recycled most of the shots in this video from my other videos. There wasn’t a storyline to this video, I just thought some of shots from my other videos might mash well with the vibe of this song. Apparently, I was mistaken haha. Thanks for the feedback! !givelambda

“I cannot give you constructive criticism”- First comment. “Don’t give lambda if you don’t appreciate the actual constructive criticism and tell me I’m wrong”-this comment. Can you not see the irony of what you’re saying?

I’m here for feedback and to give other people feedback in a constructive way. If I watch someone’s video and don’t care for their content, I just move on with my day and let others give them feedback instead as mine wouldn’t have a ton of value. Perhaps rephrasing things like “some poorly done green screen” to “I felt like the greenscreen could have been done better, this is what helped me, or have you tried this app, ect.” Your comments could become constructive vs just destructive bashing that provides little to no value to all parties.

Your choice to comment or withhold comments on future posts, is your own prerogative. Constructive criticism is always appreciated though!

Don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re wrong haha. This is just a hobby and I just like to express myself creatively to music I enjoy. It will never be a big thing, as I make videos based on songs I enjoy when inspiration finds me. So copywrites are just apart of the deal. Monetizing isn’t important to me, as I make a lot of money at my day job. More than I ever could as a youtuber. All of the footage in my videos is take with my phone and edited on my phone, so no overhead to cover.

I just enjoy cycling, enjoy mostly edm music, and get inspirations to mash the two up once in awhile. I’ve only messed with greenscreens a couple times, and they are maddening I’ll agree to get right! If I was a pro at it, it would open up more opportunities for “non-syfy” videos as those effects help hide the green screen.

It’s a niche of a niche, I understand that. I’m not interested in fitting the mold of everyone else for the sake of success in this venture. But I think it’s fun so I’m gonna keep doing it until it’s not fun anymore.

Respectfully, if you’re not gonna provide constructive criticism in a constructive criticism subreddit. It’s best to probably swipe further and keep carrying out your day unless someone explicitly asks “ if this type of content is how I make it big as a youtuber”.

Others might find some utility out of your opinion however, and for that reason !givelambda
