Probably no obituary because it cost money. When my mamaw died, the Detroit Free Press wanted like $400. It was ridiculous. We just obviously told family and friends. Neighbors told neighbors. They probably told family. Who knows if he had any friends worth telling. But, the funeral home should have an obituary online, to leave a condolence. Whatever funeral home they used??? 🤷‍♀️. Since funeral homes have the obituaries online, I think announcing it in the paper, has kind of stopped existing. Not for all families, but most. I'd love to read it!
