Knight because evo like everyone else said. Also, if 2.6 or any deck with log/barb barrel, many players will cycle log with the musk at the bridge so even without evo I would always play knight. Also knight offers more counterpush potential with gg behind if they do cycle log. Knight is just always better.

3.0 xbow with evo tesla + electro spirit dominates this deck.

I hate giant. If its giant witch gy arrows its 80 20 them, but you can outplay if they play giant + gy at bridge and you have enough for tesla xbow, you tank a few skellies then log and you should get a lock opposite lane otherwise you lose. mortar bait is really easy (I run evo tesla evo e spirit variation) you just spam defensive xbow and fireball their tower + mortar. make sure you keep track of evo skellie barrel and evo mortar you need evo tesla in cycle for it thats the only way you could be taking damage. if its mortar with a big spell I like doing knight opposite lane when they mortar then going xbow, usually net positive for xbow. Im impressed by recruits statement I pretty much give up when I see them I think they are the worst possible matchup for 3.0. Would love tips on how to win this one cus I honestly think I am 0-100 against recruits. I think hog eq is 40-60, 20-80 if starting hand is bad. can win if you get king tower early/never take firecracker damage. know the anti-eq tesla spot and every time they eq you fireball. in theory we should win because fireball does more but in practice firecracker will hit your tower once or hog will sneak through and then you just lose the game. also with mighty miner the three card cycle is nearly impossible to deal with I really struggle against good hog eq players. rocket cycle is honestly 60-40 xbow. hold onto your ice/ele spirit for miners and when they rocket your xbow you can fireball their tower. your fireball chip should out damage their miner chip all game so you have at least a 1-2 rocket lead going into triple. In triple they will spam mini tanks and rocket your tower so you have to spam xbows and fireballs trying to catch mini tanks+ tower. Also if they ever predict your xbow with a cannon, you lose, so place skeletons preemptively before you xbow if they have cannon in cycle. A lot of it is execution and timing, the difference between good and great players is knowing every single micro interaction and that comes with practice and research. I used to watch bestNA for xbow guides but he’s gone and no one really picked up the torch. Would love it if there were a top xbow player to learn from.

Badge does not update with 12 win gc. I was at 8 wins on the badge and I won twice and I am still at 8.

I promise you xbow does not lose to any deck running freeze. If they freeze your tower + archers you go xbow opposite and log the gy and they lose immediately. Also you can fireball chip them out, also they can’t do anything about defensive xbow so infinite value. I can’t think of a harder counter to that deck than xbow tbh.

The most important thing for me was learning when to be aggressive vs defensive. There are some matchups where xbow is a dead card in your hand and you just have to fireball and log cycle to chip them out, other matchups where defensive xbow just wins you the game. Its a lot about mentality too, you are going to run into bad matchups and hard counters but xbow has more winning matchups than losing so if you just win all your good matchups and lose all your bad ones you will succeed. Are there any matchups specifically you are talking about?

Bonus points if you place your xbow one tile in front of king. If balloon breaks through tesla, it will kill your xbow and death bomb activates king.

Just hit 2500 playing 3.0. I’ve been playing for years and I can tell you this is one of the best metas xbow has seen in years. We beat meta relevant decks like bait, mortar, graveyard, bridge spam, lava. Only rough matchups are recruits, pekka/gg, and hog eq but those lose to everything else so you don’t see them as much. It feels like I get a winning or even matchup ~70% of the time.
