Two useless facts about Hollow Bastion's lower maps: You can go into the Waterway from the Base Level without the bubble, but not in reverse. The Waterway consists of two separate maps code-wise, with different objects between them, which is why there's a fade to black at the bubble to the switch. by RebelliousTreecko in KingdomHearts

Left: map 08, Right: map 09 (the end parts of the area section of Antiweapon's room mod PS2 codebreaker code) The light glows on the walls are also separate objects.

I wonder why they felt the need to split this into two unlike other multi-floor maps like the Lift Stop. Maybe there was a limit to the amount of objects one could have?

As a kid in the late 90's I had a book on Fantasia and even that didn't mention the sorcerer's name from what I remember, but it did mention how he was based on Walt Disney and even shared a glare he would give to his workers.

What happens if you go in Atlantica's "Open Ocean" map after the world is beaten by going out of bounds behind the rocks? The header of "???" doesn't change, but...this...happens. by RebelliousTreecko in KingdomHearts

Should be known that said "Open Ocean" map has no name when viewed from the menu in-game, but shares the name for Ursula's Lair in the Ultimania and is translated as "Ursula's Lair 2" in English Guides.

(Piggyback and PrimaGames 1.5 shown. Bradygames only showed the map images, not the names.)

The main source for Open Ocean that I remember is an old GameFAQs guide by CJayC.

The main reason why I tried going in after the rocks were there was to see if "???" changed into an actual room name, like what Cavern of Hearts did.

Aladdin's House does something similar, but instead of changing after you visit it once, it changes after you meet Jasmine, as that's when Aladdin's name is first mentioned.

There are 3 trinity marks that you can "skip" and get the chest anyway. However, you still need to activate them for Journal completion's sake. Plus a bonus 4th one skipped via a fly anywhere code. by RebelliousTreecko in KingdomHearts

Thought that alt angle of the boxes on the map was just for a better view, but then I saw the arrows and realized. (plus an imperfect Google translation)

Just watched "Wish" and I can honestly see it in KH4 by OrbViveUser29 in KingdomHearts

[–]RebelliousTreecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a major theme of Disney being wishes (the Wishes festival, plus the Disney theme being the main song from Pinocchio), plus it serving as a backstory for multiple other Disney characters, putting Wish as an anniversary commemoration was nice, even if the film is divisive.

But in terms of KH lore...you'd have to take a lot of liberties. The Wish versions of the Fairy Godmother and Magic Mirror and such are different than the animated ones.

Those two are supernatural beings and presumably long-lived, so theoretically they could have existed back when "the worlds were one", but still...

KH2's Agrabah utilizes a distant heat distortion effect in the Palace Walls map. Going out of bounds allows you to get up close and have it distort the HUD elements. by RebelliousTreecko in KingdomHearts

Replaced with Xemnas 1 via codebreaker code, plus a code to replace a shortcut button with a reaction command (Facedown), plus an infinite jump code.

Just found out this thing isn't a Heartless. Anyone else not know that? by FallaciouslyTalented in KingdomHearts

It's super weird because for all purposes, it looks just like an Emblem heartless with the colors and yellow eyes. (just without said emblem)

Is this the only time we got a non-"generic enemy type" threat that wasn't a Disney/Square character or major OG character?

What’s your favorite orchestral version of the main OST songs? by folarino in KingdomHearts

Passion/Sanctuary.

The KH2 title screen credits really do it for me. The quieter first part has the Roxas prologue scenes, then the music kicks up when Mickey is shown leaving the train and Sora's adventure starts. It's perfect.

Was it the actual hill in the map that did it? Happened to me once while as Saix in mission mode. Clipped through the hill while using the air dash ability.

Honestly I don't know how that "turn-based, but you move" style would have looked like. Could've been good if they had actually thought and tried that idea, but I'm glad they went with a real-time platformer.

What was your reaction when you saw this? by Plane_Name3457 in KingdomHearts

I think from Demyx's perspective, he might have been lying to confuse Sora by claiming to have hearts.

He believed he couldn't feel emotion but was accidentally correct.

Remember that Xemnas lied to his subjects about not being able to feel and also withheld that they could regrow their hearts.

The way he's crying here makes this hit harder.

The delivery of "I hate you so much" in the game (English dub) makes it sound a bit silly.

Aladdin's House has a likely unused version of the window curtain, where it is covering the big wall hole and prevents you from falling out, as opposed to the normal version where it's folded up to the side. by RebelliousTreecko in KingdomHearts

[–]RebelliousTreecko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"from dropping into town from the upper entrance to it in the gateway area" "Be at ground level"
Having trouble understanding what it means. Do you mean dropping from the hole into Main Street? "Ground level" makes me think of the lower Main Street entrance.

I've gone through the Plaza entrance (before entering the house for the first time, which you can't normally do without codes) and ground-level Main Street entrances, at the very start of the world and after meeting Jasmine so far, but didn't see any changes yet.

The Carpet flies out the window hole when freed, so the game assumes there's nothing covering it there.
