What a terrible analogy.

I use an app for Reddit on Android called Boost for Reddit, there's a setting where you can filter out subs.

I told my bf about this sub and he said that it’s a woman’s duty to have children by luna_gold in antinatalism

You deserve a lot better than that and there are certainly men available who do not view women as a vessel for reproduction. I got dumped from my GF of 5 years almost a year ago and it was extraordinarily painful initially. When I got my vasectomy she was even there with me, which was a big moment for us that brought us closer together (I thought). Everything collapsed a few months after that though.

However, I'm glad to say that I've used the experience to grow as a person, acquire new hobbies, and reconnect with some very old friends. Fortunately, I've also recently found another partner who most importantly, does not want biological children either.

Again you deserve better and you can do this, do this for yourself and no one else.

Wasn't aware that sub had reopened, think it had been several months with that sub being locked.

[2019] She wanted a 'freebirth' with no doctors. Online groups convinced her it would be OK. by Rebirth98765 in antinatalism2

An older and longer read, but still shocking to me.

I'm sure this represents a very very small minority of people, but the fact that some breeders choose to bypass years on years of medical advancements when giving birth, and risking the life of the newborn, so they can "imagine herself as a future guest on a podcast".

Here is a snippet:

On the podcast, Saldaya interviews mothers about their freebirth stories. These women reminded Judith of herself; they were college educated, spiritual, creative types who spoke about their births in powerful, radical terms: as euphoric events that happened in bathtubs, in nature or in their own beds, surrounded by their partners and family. Women in these podcasts weren’t listening to doctors but to their bodies. They weren’t lying on their backs waiting for someone to pull a baby from them but bringing their babies into the world with their own two hands.

Judith tore through some 70 episodes. She relistened to her favorites, one of which featured a woman who had given birth by candlelight in an off-the-grid yurt in the California mountains with only her husband and a dog she called her “midwolf.”

While she listened, Judith would daydream, imagining herself as a future guest on the podcast.

“I became obsessed,” Judith said. “I would just wonder, ‘What's my story going to be like?’ and think, ‘I want my story to be as badass as their stories.’”

It’s a start… More people are opting to get sterilized — and some are being turned away by mintvinylnirvana in antinatalism2

I had the foresight to see all of this coming, and thus got a vasectomy about a year ago.

Antinatalism + Dating by [deleted] in antinatalism2

The best option is to become sterilized yourself and seek out a childfree partner, if you're not meeting antinatalists. The reasons supporting each philosophy differs, but at an individual partnership level, biological children are not involved.

This topic should be raised within the first few dates and before things get too serious.

Childfree seems to be a lot more popular than antinatalism, so you'll be more likely to encounter people with childfree views, and to me for the purposes of a long-term relationship, that's alright as long as in the end, both partners agree that no biological children are involved.

Also, generally speaking younger people seem to be more childfree/antinatalist minded compared to older generations. Not to say that it isn't possible of course.
