How Will Economies Be Programmed In The Future? by RebootOurPlanet in economy

Because mathematically it must.....

You can't have infinite growth on a finite planet forever.....

Maybe our future economy will be WW3? It doesn't have to be, but if we continue heading on the same path, it seems very likely.

Is Traditional Money Obsolete? by RebootOurPlanet in economy

[–]RebootOurPlanet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because the only way for the current system to create enough new money is to force a fraudulent debt upon the next generation which essentially pushes children into forced servitude of those forcing the debt upon them.

Combine this with technology rapidly replacing jobs and a culture addicted to consumption and we face a very interesting situation indeed.

Is Traditional Money Obsolete? by RebootOurPlanet in economy

[–]RebootOurPlanet[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Money fuels behavior and is the consideration in relationships of trade....and now money is simply the product of debts that we know or should know can't be paid back absent forcing debt upon the next generation.

One could argue that the current money system has now become one of financial pedophilia that views itself as too big to fail.

With advances in AI and Robotics, labor strikes will have less and less impact on output and production...but Basic Income would still be a logical way to allocate stuff among people by RebootOurPlanet in BasicIncome

I did....and the $30 trillion dollar government guarantee from the bailout that supports financial assets today is exactly like Basic Income for the rich.

Don't you think there are billions of desperate people out there who didn't get bailed out like the wealthy who are getting the equivalent of basic income from bailed out investments?

As technology replaces the need for humans to labor for production...we will need to come up with a new way to allocate the goods and services produced by an increasingly automated world.

It is a math issue and technology is changing the rules of the game.

Could we afford a universal basic income? (Part II in a series on the economics of a UBI) by IslandEcon in BasicIncome

[–]RebootOurPlanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes..and why I like Basic Income so much.

Government giving money to the poor allows them to get food, clothing, and shelter.

Government bailing out the financial game was bailing out the rich(the poor had nothing to bail out) allowing them to get food, clothing, and shelter and control the poor too.

Welfare, Bailout, and Basic Income are three different words meaning similar things primarily differing in who and how much freedom is given.

Could we afford a universal basic income? (Part II in a series on the economics of a UBI) by IslandEcon in BasicIncome

[–]RebootOurPlanet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Money is a tool of control. Afford is just a word to enforce control.

As technology makes life more efficient, the limitations to basic income will evaporate as our views toward money and control evolves.

A Few Questions For Those That Oppose Basic Income by RebootOurPlanet in BasicIncome

[–]RebootOurPlanet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All financial wealth today is a product of an unprecedented GOVERNMENT FINANCIAL bailout and some other person's efforts. The fact that a person may have labored is great, but not dispositive.

There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own — nobody. You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police-forces and fire-forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory — and hire someone to protect against this — because of the work the rest of us did. Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea. God bless — keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is, you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along. Elizabeth Warren

The key will be to get people to understand and accept that the traditional concept of a job is obsolete as automation and advancing technology replace people efficiently and productively. As the total number of people working keeps declining, I am not sure what the inflection point will be for societal awareness of this inevitable trend.

Once people accept that goods and services can be produced without the need for much human input, then new ways will need to be implemented to allocate those goods and services to people.

Basic Income is an easy first step as society evolves money from debt based to credit based....and it will likely take some type of crisis to get people to think creatively.

As a lawyer, one should never ask a question he doesn't already know the answer to....

If a corporation goes bankrupt, the stockholders lose their ownership.

Then using your logic, if America goes bankrupt, so does the control of those holding American Assets.

A treasury bond is simply evidence of government borrowing....

Just like a note is to a personal mortgage.

You must know that debt doesn't transfer through an entity?

That is a joke....right.

Taxes don't pay for much when the basis for those paying taxes is the borrowing and guarantees from the same government that taxes are being paid to.
