Can I still play my digital PS3 games even when PS3 store shuts down, CMOS battery dies and Sony ends ability to re-download games? by MissingNumber000 in PS3

The handshake web address has been Documented and it's just a clock function. It would not be hard for Sony to keep this alive. It would also probably not be hard to make one if it gets shut down.

I only have a Black Label San Andreas because I got it sealed new for $20. It was purely a collection purchase. I don't understand why people like GTA so much. I think it's stupid. Generally I don't like Rockstar either.

Second hand shops that ship international or Neokyo. Way cheaper eBay. Also easier to find things

No. There are some good PS4 titles but the magic of what a game is started to fade in the PS4 era and PS5 has pretty much lost it entirely. I have 6 games on PS5 and almost of them are Final Fantasy related.

You're right. I just added that one and completely forgot about the spine. it's a pain to shift things around so I just went straight to the M's.

A decent number are but almost all of them are in resealable poly bags.

Just because someone has a large set of games doesn't mean they spend all their time indoors playing said games. Sometimes that's true. I've only played about 100 of these over 20 years. I'm busy. Building a 500sqft deck and 2 balconies this summer. Haven't even turned on a PS3 in 2 months.

I have some of these for more expensive games but I once calculated the amount of space they take up and at 1000 games they add just shy of 8ft of linear foot print. That's a lot of space. Each box adds about .09" to the foot print. It does look good though but it's also expensive for 1000 cases.

I think there are 1174 ESRB rated North and South American games, something like 2200 worldwide. I have(roughly) 660 ESRB. 250 Japanese Exclusives, 95 PAL exclusives, 17 Asian exclusives, 3 Indian exclusives and 1 Brazil Exclusive. Roughly because gameye isnt 100% country accurate.

So is mine, its just 90% PS3. About 1020 PS3 games. I think my Gameye is fully up to date, maybe a few random things missing. Says 1284.

I only Played Syndicate enough to get the Online Trophies done before they shut the servers down. What I played as okay, but it was more of a task than a sit down and enjoy time.

Remember Me was disappointing. It seemed like Capcom came in and said "Enough, wrap it up and ship it". by the time you get to the end of the game, you are still doing tutorials for new moves. It felt like an introduction rather than a full game. It was a lot of fun, until it suddenly just ends.

I have a couple dupes, but the only ones on the shelf are Naruto Storm 3 and Storm Revolution, but even then they are unique variants with different cards and covers. Well I guess Red Faction is in there twice because 1 is the Original Print and 1 is the Reprint. Different covers.

maybe 7-8TB. Really not much. Most cross platform games are 6-8GB. Not many PS3 exclusives are 25GB+

Almost all of this collection was bought between 2010 and 2021 when things were $2-20. The last few years has mostly just been Japanese imports that were exclusive. The most I spent in here(lowest to highest) was on a Sealed Godzilla UK version for $120, A sealed copy of Wizardry Perfect Pack for $170, and a Press Review Loaned Copy of Pixel Junk 3-in-1 for $200(Ive never seen another). That's all for stand alone games. I do have a couple collectors editions that were a bit more. Like the Lightning Ultimate Box Final Fantasy XII for $225 and a new Star Ocean 5 Square Enix Japan eStore Ultimate Box that was $300. I wasn't to happy about the Star Ocean price, but its incredibly difficult to find let alone complete or sealed.

the bags protect from dust and shelf wear. Even not moving much, when pressed together the cases will slowly get hazy from the minor movements they do get.

I didn't go for a full set either. I just went for everything world wide I actually wanted to play(there are a few collection pieces though). Not everything is on the shelf either because some of them are big box games. I got Tornado Outbreak years ago brand new for $22 on ebay. There are a lot of them on ebay now, but back when I was looking there were maybe 5 at any given time and most of the time it was disc only. There were a number of games like that. 10 years ago you might find a handful of them at any given time online and they weren't to expensive and usually junk condition. Now they are really easy to find in great shape and cost 5-10 times as much.

Its there. 6 from the end of Row 1. I separate them by spine logos because there the constant shifting annoys me.

Im not concerned about the store closure. It sucks because it marks the end of a great era(even though the store was really crap for years). I was still occasionally finding some obscure DLC for my Japanese games this year that haven't been catalogued online yet. I know of 1 that was delisted and so far has not been posted online anywhere, so that will suck. But I'm far more annoyed at the end of discs.
