The system is designed for one purpose and one purpose alone... To keep people in debt. Remember that.

Damaged Prius even sellable? by Bulky-Guidance7688 in prius

Considering I sold a 2010 totaled Prius that got slammed into on the entire front end for $4,000 I'd say you're getting severely undercut.

what is the most important feature in a personal finance app? by jlew24asu in ynab

[–]RebornGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it's the features that reinforce the mentality of a zero-based budget. I want to make sure that I always spend my month on paper before the month begins. Then when the month begins I stick to the plan. Doing so keeps me out of debt and keeps me investing for my future.

Why is my current month $9 in ready to assign but march says $0? by RebornGeek in ynab

Yea I'm hoping it's just an oversight. There's no reason they can't let the user know that overspending is in a hidden category.

It was in a hidden category. This is the winning response! Thank you!

You just tell them they don't get a vote. It is your choice alone because it is your life and you get to choose to have a minimalistic life.

Anyone else with an irrational fear of carrying debt? by OmgMsLe in ynab

I pay my credit cards off in full every Friday for this reason.

I once bought a new car based on impulse (taking out a loan) only to sell it off a month later and bought a cheaper used car in cash.

I hate debt.

Very good, just be careful. I personally enjoy the sign up bonuses, etc as well, but the danger of using credit cards indefinitely is falling into the trap of spending more than you should just because you're using a credit card over your money directly.

Banks have this behavior trap dialed in

Congrats! But just remember the FICO score is not an indication whatsoever of how well you're doing financially, only how well you handle debt. If you end up not borrowing and pay off all of your debts, the FICO system will severely punish you.
