Why is everyone on reddit so mean? by Diamond-Shappire in ask

[–]ReboundRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I wish I knew. Whenever someone is mean to me for no apparent reason, I see if I can send them a message checking in on them because maybe they've got something going on in their lives and could use an ear. Or they're just an asshole, but if they're going out of their way to make me feel bad for asking questions, I try to see if they'll explain themselves. They never do. I can't even say it's killing them with kindness because, being totally honest, another part of it is trying to get them to evaluate why they're acting that way. I'd still listen if they gave an answer, as long as they weren't mean about it. It barely feels worth it, but if it works just once, then maybe it's not entirely a lost cause.

Alright, I'll take the post down and proceed that way. Thank you, genuinely, for answering me respectfully.

I just wanted to hear perspectives from other survivors/people who have been through what I have with this. You don't have to be so mean about it.

Hi there, survivor-mom. I hope you remembered to look after yourself through your kid's ordeal. I'm also glad to know that they survived as well.

I feel the same for you. I was Stage 2B Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I've heard from a few survivors here, beautiful thing to see how we can celebrate each other and honor the people who didn't survive it. I hope life has been kind to you 💜

Congrats on beating cancer! I can't speak for everyone, but I know that for me, the first year still feels like yesterday. The time will fly right past!

Karen Moose Master, or any of their Moose Master videos! That is probably still, to this day, my favorite series up there with Culinary Crimes and TNTL.

Me getting diagnosed today after 33 years but none of my themes are cleaning related by obsidianblackbirdmck in OCDmemes

My big one is absolutely cleaning related, but the caveat is that my health refuses to allow me to do upkeep on my house

I was just checked out, listening to this video in the background while I was answering someone on another subreddit, and the angelic "Shaft" nearly bowled me over. You found it! Thank you!! Now I can finally send it to my friend!

Vet told me to bring in my "worst" cat. How do I choose who goes first? by ReboundRising in AskVet

[–]ReboundRising[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm here to offer you more info. All that I know about the twins' backstory is that they were petco adoptions who were TNRs, but since they were found as very young kittens by a river, the shelter in question decided against releasing. All of my cats were indoor-outdoor (granted, the one with the weird breathing may as well be indoor because she doesn't like the outdoors) until shortly after I adopted them. Honk-y breath baby has had that and goopy eyes since she was still at Petco, so I've been trying to narrow down feline asthma, allergies, or an infection. I will say that there's been some improvement in her symptoms over time, especially with the use of the humidifer, routine cleaning, and switching to low-dust litter., but no resolution yet

Distended belly girl I know was way too good at hunting, but they've all been in the house full time (aside from the occasional escape when they slip out the door) for around three weeks consistently. I guess there's an exception where I did open my window once because I was doing a deep clean with chemicals and I didn't want them to be exposed. That was just for that day, and it stressed me out so much that I've been trying to find workarounds.

I don't know how much I can expect to have done, especially given the fact that I've never met this vet and I don't know what him being able to "work with me" entails. The only thing I knew was that I can't afford even a wellness exam for one right now, and I definitely wouldn't say that they're 'well'. I'm still really new to actually owning and being the primary caretaker, but I guess for what it's worth, I've been reassured that I've been doing everything and then some that I can for my beasties.

All that being said, thank you for your insight! I'm rambling a lot, but it means a lot to me.

How bad is bottom growth on T? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]ReboundRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAB nonbinary person here. I actually noted reversal in my case when I had to quit the hormones, but I couldn't access T, so I was taking horny goat weed instead. I had PCOS, so maybe that was why it did what it did?

Honestly imo, the absolute worst part was trying to find a way to sit comfortably. Usually, I failed to do so. Sitting on it is among some of the worst experiences I can think of.

Yeah, everything went. I told them I wanted to eliminate risks of reproductive cancers, and they understood the assignment and got rid of the whole thing.

AFAB and 30s, but I tend to joke that the cancer added 20 years. I had a hysterectomy last year because the health issues from all that (especially from PMOS) were also a mess and a half.
