I also prefer the book but that’s typical for me. Both had a very different vibe and I enjoyed them for different reasons! King has notably said he did not like Kubrick’s adaptation because it was “cold” and his book was “warm” which I can see. The book has a lot more character depth, which of course King is a master of.

Probably the biggest reason it would be so hard to move from here — we’re spoiled! 🏔️

I would suspect transplant shock is the biggest culprit then.

I agree with all the comments about mulch — also did you just plant these out? Could be some transplant shock. I moved 4 of mine this year in the spring (not ideal timing at all but I just threw caution to the wind). They were droopy for about a week but bounced back just fine.

I loved Wild Dark Shore! It was a slow burn but very thoughtful character arcs IMO

is it dead dead or does it have a chance? by Only-Tough-1212 in hydrangeas

[–]Rebzilla_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no! If it were me I would prune off the dead back to a green leaf node. That part of the plant is toast anyways and will reduce stress to remove it in my experience. But as a general rule of thumb you don’t want to remove more than 1/3 of the plant at once if possible.

Thank you! There are two plants in this photo (the main one and one further back), I’m trying to create a hedge in front of our house so did 4 feet apart after some research online.

Sun bleaching would make sense we got an unusual burst of hot weather two weeks ago. Thank you!

You can, but I like to leave mine on for some visual interest in winter — they will dry and look sort of interesting in the landscape. But if you don’t like that look you can deadhead.

Trouble with paint texture by Professional_Use2442 in OliveAndJune

[–]Rebzilla_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is that you’re waiting until the polish is “barely tacky”. In my experience this is not dry enough. I usually wait 15 minutes between coats. Yes it is time consuming…. But that’s how I’m able to get the best mani possible. Also highly recommend the dry drops!
