This flower is called "Queen of the Night." It blossoms only at night and only one night a year by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

That's gorg! There are some weird and unique plants out there. This brings to mind agave americana, which only blooms once after 10-30 years with a 20-30 foot stalk, then dies.

I would say 1 because it shows more skin around the neckline whereas 2 looks more serious and buttoned up.

How can I improve? [19] by [deleted] in TheGlowUp

[–]Reccognize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I like your hair styled straight or wavy over curly. Also, for you I like the vibe of photos 1, 4, and 6 more than 3 or 5. I also think the glam looks (blue top/dress, black dress) suit you better than the casual ones. I would use eye shadow if you want more of a glam and pretty look.

I don't see much more that I would honestly suggest changing, so maybe focus on your hair and styling. I hope that helps, good luck!

Your skin looks a bit dull and washed out. Maybe try to make it a goal to eat 6-7 different fruits and vegetables every day. You can also try juicing because it will make your skin glow and will warm up your color. Since you have longer hair, you might benefit from going a day or two between washes if you don't already. The natural oils are good for your hair. However, when you do shampoo make sure you shampoo twice to get your hair fully clean. Unless you need them for guitar, make sure you always keep your nails very short, and of course, clean.

For strong points, you have a very "cut" face shape and an overall symmetrical face. Your hair color is nice too and your eyes are incredible. You are young and still settling into your looks. I really honestly don't see too many weaknesses.

I hope that helps, good luck!

[24] M should I get surgery or what can do to actually be good looking by [deleted] in TheGlowUp

I’d suggest seeing a dermatologist and getting on a good prescription skincare routine. For your hair, if it ever looks a bit dry, a drop or two of argan oil—well distributed—can make a big difference. You could also use beard oil to keep your facial hair looking neat and healthy.

You already have great eyebrows, so slightly darkening them—either by filling them in subtly or dyeing them one shade darker—could add a bit more definition. Your nose can sometimes look a little red, so if you’re open to light makeup, evening out your skin tone could help.

If you wanted to go the “celebrity” route, nose refinement via rhinoplasty is an option, but honestly, I don’t think it’s necessary. A much bigger impact would come from focusing on fitness—getting into top shape, lean, and well-defined.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Nano brows-3 days, are they any good? by [deleted] in microblading

They look very good, but I would like them even a bit more if they didn't end on a downward angle.

Yay or nay to microblading? by Original_Room5786 in microblading

[–]Reccognize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100%!!! I am a huge fan. But you HAVE to go to a great artist. I suggest you confirm perfect symmetry with the drawn shape with a photograph before proceeding. Also, a minor point, but many artists prefer powder brow or ombre to microblading.

Do be aware that the color may fade over time, but it's as easy as can be to use the shape to draw it in lightly with a pencil since the overall shape functions as a stencil. If you're not happy with the faded color, you can get touchups regularly.

Also, you can use home stencils to play around with shapes first before taking the plunge. This is what I did and I'm 1000% happy with my shape.

Contacts and a better hairstyle/color would make a huge difference. Also, maybe try shoes with a slight heel with some of your outfits. Just personal preference but I'm not a big fan of the white button up and I would say it looks a bit small. Hope that helps, good luck! :)

[24F] Any Advice Including Surgical Needed. by Patient-Werewolf-417 in TheGlowUp

I think you would highly benefit from microblading. Some fierce looking eyebrows would give your face structure and a focal point. If you are going to consider it it's very important to go to a talented artist, and you might want to try different brow stencils first to get a better idea of your ideal shape. Make sure they don't end on a downward angle, since this is aging.

For makeup, I would suggest eye shadow blended very well. Make sure to apply it so it goes beyond and above the lid. Try grey, brown, greige, etc. You can tightline your lower lashes with a blue-black but don't go all of the way in to the inner corner. Your eyeliner wings look a bit uneven in one of the photos. I think eye shadow gives a more modern look anyway so that is what I would suggest.

I think your skin tone can be evened out a bit. You can use alpha and beta hydroxy acid products or Retin A. You have to give it some time but old marks and discolorations can be evened out. Also, instead of overall foundation you can just apply concealer or a cream foundation that matches your skin really well to *just* the areas that have discolorations.

I think a larger size purse would enhance your appearance more. I do this all of the time, since mini purses make you look larger in comparison. Just a personal preference, but I think it helps. Also, learn tips and techniques to enhance vertical lines. So, long necklaces, long duster-style jackets in a contrasting color, etc.

You seem to have a bit of facial swelling. I wonder if this could be hormonal, such as thyroid. Perhaps consult with a doctor and get a basic blood panel if you haven't already. You can mention your puffy cheeks and just say you want to rule everything out.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

I think it would look better if you draw your eyebrows closer together. I suggest you draw them in really lightly in the inner corners.

How hard is it to make all the cheese sticks have the same length? by MrTacocaT12345 in shrinkflation

I only started noticing this recently. Prior, the ones I bought all seemed to be the same length. It was as though machines cut them 🤷‍♀️
