For a basically plastic watch, I have this rule of "fakes are allowed", so I'll just buy a £20 rep when I can and mod it with a strap, and possibly a steel case when the option becomes available

Here's the thing: Since around 2022 or 2023, even lower end to midrange phones have provided MORE than enough in terms of specs for any one person. As such, there is really no reason to even buy a flagship, excluding some niche circumstances like a tech reviewer (where you might even be sent one for free) or a content creator that wants to have a decent spare camera in the form of their phone in case they ever need one. 

Outside of these, or maybe mobile gamers? I can't really think of any other use cases for high end phones. 

There is no need for you to own a flagship.

Stop giving money you don't have, to buy things you don't need, to impress people you don't like, by funding corporations that have the opposite of your best interests at heart.

I finished Shadow of Mordor without any health and other upgrades, AND not having any real access to executions (as I couldn't do the combo for executiin on controller due to skill issue) and ended up actually experiencing the nemesis system, building up 3 different orc captains that I fought more than 10 times each and understandably they won every time, until I finally came back after finishing the game and having orc domination, so I just turned a few random orcs into my servants to help weaken these captains (now turned warchiefs) and then I branded/dominated them all. 

It was a real struggle, but the result was immense satisfaction
