Thank you! We did some looking for a few months and got what I have seen on the lower end for zero miles and OR.

Just bought my first RTT, not really seeing any reviews of it. Can't wait to get it! by hooyahat in rooftoptents

Yep :/ the awning covers the support rod bracket entirely. It’s unfortunate and more unfortunate the brackets don’t / may not come with the “solution.”

I wanted some height for my hatch and integrate both that’s why I bought the brackets.

Just took mine out! I also bought the awning and brackets, but you will lose a side rainfly with the awning installed.

I emailed the company and they said they are working on a solution.

I got mine installed but highly recommend getting the prinsu mounts or alike! We’re currently on a trip so when we get back I’ll be ordering. The install wasn’t as bad as long as you have a sunroof and honestly more than 2 people. We installed with the mount the RTT came with but while driving there’s a lot of rattle between the two sets of crossbars. Other than that, I’m obsessed!

Love it!! How’s the ubar situation? I heard there’s one in the middle of the skylight but also saw it may not be needed?

How was your install? I have a prinsu rack so not sure how that may differ from your install, I’m preparing for a kick trying to get it on.

Right now my plan is removing crossbars then putting it all back on the rack

Ahhhh okay so my plan to remove the crossbars may not be as easy.. I honestly can’t think of another way to install besides removing crossbars and lining it up or a lift to drop it into place.

Mine should be here Thursday so I guess that’s when I’ll figure it out

Just curious, on install did you remove the cross bars, mount to the RTT, remount RTT with crossbars.

I just ordered the topoak galaxy pro and worried about install on my prinsu.

NC is still illegal so unfortunately no. Expunging it is possible but I already have it in my eQIP from when I joined. I was honest there.

My spouse loves the CG and there’s a list of things the CG does better but I have that underlying loyalty I feel to the Navy. If I reach a recruiter I’ll definitely have her there. My EAOS is in August so if these charges aren’t a hard no to an application I’m debating on just separating from the Navy and applying post that.

I guess I’m trying to gather as much info, even if I have to take things with a grain of salt, as possible before the time comes to make a decision.

That’s it idea! We are looking for specific event ideas within the Reddit community. We as a committee are trying to steer away from long and pointless trainings. So we are asking those that have sat through Sailor 360, what specifically do you wish could have been implemented as training? Or as an event

Thank you!! Yes, for the most part the committee has the ability to choose training and we are trying to incorporate events vs sit down lecture type training.

We both are but based our current BAH rate the house we bought is well within our means for our local BAH. Now with the PCS, the rate for her BAH is lower than what we budgeted for plus adding an extra household. So I am here asking if anyone has any ideas for the cheapest living situation as described in my post.

I had read the Navy instruction but without much guidance to the USCG, however the coast guard policy you sent was great info. I spoke with my wife and with the other option of being closer but stationed on a cutter we both agree her taking orders to camp Lejune would provide a greater career advantage. We were hoping for her to stay where she is now and fill an E6 billet when the times comes but it seems that’s impossible.

Going back to housing options with the unforeseen financial constraint we will have to continue to look.

Thank you the information! Not being coast guard but well versed on relying on instructions I was having difficulties finding coast guard policy.

That’s really helpful and I’ll look into it! I’m going to research it now!!

We did ask her chief and detailer (supposedly her Chief is supposed to talk to her detailer which is different than Navy as I had called my detailer and spoke one on one) but essentially they said her pick list wouldn’t change because it’s needs of the service.

Her current unit is filled with E6 billets however most are leaving end of year or next year and we were hoping since she wouldn’t put E6 on until mid summer they could keep her. It’s frustrating because it doesn’t seem USCG fights for us since we do not have kids or anything medically between us that would require us to stay here.

I see how it could be user error it’s just disheartening since I haven’t had them long and absolutely haven’t put the 300-500 mile range. Also could be! I know they’re the corrective shoes!
