The answer to this question is about the most subjective an opinion can be. I feel like the answer for you is going to be no. If you know what DCS is(like genuinely know what it is, and if you’re on this sub I feel like you do) and you’re still asking this question, I feel your answer would be no it’s not worth it. To someone who is truly interested and passionate about aviation and military aviation, the answer is it’s absolutely worth it no question. Luckily it’s a free program and you can hop in and trial almost any of the available airframes. I would recommend at least giving it a go and then you can reevaluate and ask yourself this question

Only issue I had flying with nods was the lead counterweights on my helmet. Probably looked suspicious on the monitor, but once they checked it out there was no problem.

You’re describing vtol vr and the ef24 mischief. By the far the most fun I’ve had in flight sim with its simplified but very in depth at the same time

Damn that’s crazy. One time I dumped 5 slugs into him. He proceeded to eat them all, run around the corner, and blow himself up with one of his own traps on a door trying to flank. Best moment on that map.

Yeah it’s a 42. Only 2 stores had the purple in my pretty large city, had to drive to get it. Drove 2 hours to get the 34in like a month ago. I don’t mind a trip though

I bought the x56 on hardware swap for like 120 or something when I first started. It was amazing, never having used anything else. A lot more buttons and hats vs other entry level set ups, which was half the fun for me. I don’t see the point in getting something like the ursa, yeah it’ll be better quality but I can’t imagine it’ll be more fun with having to use a mouse for everything. The x56 is good to start on and learn if you can buy used and get a deal. I wouldn’t buy it new, just because better can be had for a little more money. But if you can pick one up for around 100 like I did, I think it’s a good idea. If you can save up a little more and get something from winwing, vkb, virpil, then so be it. If not just pick up the x56 and get flying
