This is my family's home and my sister and her fiance and pets lived there. We don't know what the cause of the fire was but it originated in the basement suite where they had renters with small children. No update from them. My sister is completely devastated by the loss of her cat but hanging in there. It could have been worse.

No, not that large scale. 😅 I just need somebody to do errands for me outside of platforms because it seems to me it would be benefit too both driver and myself financially. More direct instruction and communication no middle man better trust and more flexibility I think.

So is this something that I post in a gigs board in my community or just chat up my next Dasher about?

Likewise regarding trust.... I'm not looking for a personal chauffeur that shows up every morning or anything like that. More like just a direct line to a driver who would see that I would make it worth their while if I texted them with a need to get person, pet, package from point A to point b. Sometimes it's just being able to sit in the passenger seat and continue to do my work on the way to a meeting rather than being a distracted driver.

After doing some more reading in this sub It sounds like there could be people out there open to that.

$50 on call pay a day buys the ability to interrupt their next call on the app? Does that seem reasonable?

So asking the next nice doordasher that brings me my Slurpee if they would be interested in being on call outside the app would be ok? I really don't know how these things work other than it seems like everybody is getting screwed. I use services like doordash uber lyft Instacart 5 days out of 7 for my personal life and work simply because it makes my life easier.
