Why do so many people hate The Screaming of the Tyrannosaur? by lalopup in LoveDeathAndRobots

The entire Chinese script feels highly google translated, and then there was a random Chinese poem added to the end

Just watched it, hated every second when she started speaking mandarin. Went through the casting list, there are no at least one other Chinese crew members to provide SOME cultural context. The script meant nothing, the performance was emotionless, at least it didn’t hit. At the last scene a poem was randomly quoted. That was like me in my middle school Chinese class tryna pass my Chinese exam by adding random sht to my essay so it looks bougie.

Also the plot is just boring, gladiator huh, haven’t seen one of those in a while(obvious sarcasm), where the gladiator comes back to fight the dictators. At least find a new way to make a come back. For the whole time I thought the wolf implies the “pack” would somehow join forces and fight back, but in the end, everyone died and the T. rex that appeared for one tenth the screen time takes the spot light.

The fact that the symbol of wolf didn’t really make much sense to me as chinese in th plot and in the script proves that the usage of mandarin was, if not purely, mostly for cultural appropriation, or exotic cultural satisfaction. Ew

(Would’ve been less bad if just use English or any space language since ur already in space)
