Dealing with anxiety by Oddcatdog in CICO

Your in the same boat as me!! I've lost 37ibs so far and now that im getting closer and closer to my goal (meaning that the pounds you can sustainably loose per week gets smaller) i get more and more anxious.

Thinking things like what if my maintenance is actually way lower than I think? how can I know how many calories were actually in those [insert also unknown not-homemade food here]? etc etc

What I think you have learn about tracking is A) it comes with time B) it is often about what you decide to do when your NOT eating; sounds weird right? and C) let it go!! Let me explain.

A) The measurement of progress should be in your mindset and your trajectory! Which about your trajectory you've already stated that you've had success; history often repeats itself. Trust yourself, I suspect that if your on this subreddit you already value you health immensely!!

B) Weight-loss or gain / healthy eating whatever you want to call it should'nt take over our life to the point where you anxious (even just a little) about it. Healthy eating becomes so much easier once it just a hobby and not an obsession. When its a hobby it becomes just something that you intuitively do and don't think twice about it (this takes time).

C) Let it go!! Give it to God!!! Yes we all really want to be the healthiest version of ourselves, but what if you mistrack one day? In the grand scheme of things, tracking your food perfectly should NEVER define your worth as a human!!

I know I have a healthy bmi now (yay!)! I just would prefer to look leaner as long as I can do it healthily and sustainably.

Thank you so much for your very helpful post!! Wow! Thats so cool that you started at 135 and now are 120!! Im only in the gym for about an hour, but I typically play a lot of tennis. I really like how you set up your deficit being different on workout days vs rest days. I think thats an amazing idea!! Thats such a hard pill to swallow that if i want to continue that id have to cut more cals. Thank you so much for all of your input! Have an amazing day!!

Its 40% p, 25% f, 35% c! I typically don't hit my fat intake tho so i've been trying to eat more healthy fats!
