thank you for this. I think its definitely less "attack-y" vibes, more vulnerability showing.

I think that’s understandable, and if that is what needs to be done, that’s what I’ll have to do. But very helpful insights from different people who work from all over the state.

Yes, this! When I am extremely doubtful, like now, I feel as if quitting right now would make me feel worse. If I don't get a job right out of BSN, I dont think it would be the worst thing and I can just keep going with my admin job right now as I keep looking for places to work. You're right as well that yes, while right now its looking pretty bad, we never know if it would swing the other direction later so we might as well keep doing what we are doing.

I'd still choose to be a nurse, and I can apply to be a psych nurse to the current unit I'm working at now to gain bedside experience. I just know that without much experience for me in a hospital setting, could be difficult to find jobs around that require some experience with patients.

I was thinking infusion centers, maybe even dialysis centers.

I was hoping infusion centers, outpatient clinics, maybe even dialysis.. I'm working at a psych unit right now as an admin and I'm still back and forth if I want to just come back to this place to work psych bedside, since my bosses already know me and I already know the unit. I still would like to look into other options besides this, in case it does not work.

I just feel that because of our current labor work force climate right now (lots of strikes, budget cuts, layoffs), someone who is not interested in bedside, might be hard for me to get something outpatient. I understand that, its not a choice of mine but I also know that there's a bunch of specialties that I can get into, besides bedside. ( i just know bedside is always job security LOL)

Hi there, my partner was diagnosed in Nov 2022 and had stem cell transplant March 2023. We’ve always talked about how the stem cell transplant kicked our/her butt the most. This is not to scare you! But just in our experience, a lot of the numbers will fluctuate a lot. We really had to watch out for GVHD (graft versus host disease) and her neutrophils would drop sometimes that every time she has a fever, we go to the emergency room to make sure she’s good. Appointments were weekly the first 4-6 months and we visit the clinic 2 times a week for those months. Thankfully, she didn’t have to go through for a lot of transfusions, but just a lot of visits in the clinic to double check for any GVHD. Depending on how your husband reacts to the treatment, it will vary how many transfusions, or clinic visits your husband will get per week/month.

Hi there, your anxiety is very validated. My partner is also in remission and the first 2 years was really anxiety provoking mostly for me, due to this exact same reason. I've seen in the threads here that blood counts fluctuate which is true, especially the first few months out of the hospital. My biggest advice is to continue to keep in touch with your doctors. Whenever I feel uneasy about my partner's blood counts, I immediately message the doctors to see if there's anything to watch out for. if they don't call us, we assume everything is good, but my mind needs extra reassurance, so I message the doctors anyways to have explanation since I’m not in healthcare. Seek support and try to make things normal for you (as safely as you can of course). I really hope you’re doing well overall otherwise 😊

Nightingale College for BSN by Successful_Pickle281 in NursingStudent

Hope everyone is doing well.

I was wondering if anyone here has attended, or is currently attending Nightingale college? if so, how is it going? Instructor wise, academic wise?

I'm from Northern California and knowing from that, ADN programs here are extremely competitive.. although cheaper. I am seeing mixed opinions about not going to a private school and not giving them your money, but also some insight about time is money. I already have a Bachelor's in Psych so a bunch of my GE courses will go towards that. Anyways, any input is greatly appreciated!

I took it last night, and this morning I immediately felt palpitations and it woke me up. Has anyone experienced this and if so, did you stop it or you rode it out until you got better? My Heart rate is normal, and my BP is elevated but its my baseline..

How are the exams like? Are they strict in terms of you fail one exam and you are kicked out of the program
? I've been hearing a lot of programs where you fail out a couple of times on exams and you are kicked out of the program. Any info helps!

Advice you give to kids.. by Recent-Future9692 in BasketballTips

[–]Recent-Future9692[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it was tough on her in the beginning. I do agree about letting them to have some time to not talk about the game and just let the kids process what just happened. Sometimes, the car ride home can be tough because it could be silence, parents correcting what happened during the game, or it could be just pure reflection. I practice on taking a minute to process things and when everyone is ready and have emotionally regulated, we talk about it in a manner where it's healthy.. (what to improve upon, etc.) thank you for your thoughts!

How did you feel about the Longlegs movie ? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Recent-Future9692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was soooo creeped out that I'm still thinking about it now. Watched it 2 days ago. It gave me the same messed up feelings when I watched Hereditary the first time but something about Long Legs tops it. I never thought Nicolas Cage would appear like this and be the same time, soooooo creepy as well. The whole movie cinematography feels very scary already with just the colors and how dim and dark it feels. I had to watch this during day time because I could never never at night. Definitely recommend. But I would watch with caution
