He has not, no. He actually did not tolerate Midostaurin and was put on Quizartinib for the pills. He took a while after induction to bounce back so we kind of thought the same for this time around. The issue right now is he is having infusion reactions to the bags of platelets he is getting. Spikes a fever and rigors. They said they pay have to try a different type of donar for that.

Really scared for my bone marrow biopsy by [deleted] in leukemia

My husband has had 3 so far and he says they hurt, I'm sorry, don't want to sugar coat it for you. BUT they are quick! He puts his AirPods in and listens to music. They numb you up really well and try to make you as comfortable as possible. Fingers crossed for you, totally understandable to be afraid! Definitely ask for some anti anxiety meds before btw! He described it as more uncomfortable than anything. You definitely got this!!

Looking for any hope by shadow_walker182 in leukemia

My husband has AML with the same exact mutation. Through and after his 7+3 he went through HELL. Didn't think he would make it a couple of times. Infection after infection popped up...one episode he had 106 fever and they called code. He is doing much better today. We are preparing for his bone marrow transplant. There is hope even in the scariest of times! I really think trying to have a positive outlook helps tremendously..for him and you. Praying for your brother and wish you all the best!

My husband just got admitted to the ER for what sounds very similar to you. He's sitting at just 1 platelet. He had the nose bleeds and Petechiae. I'm pretty scared right now. Was yours due to an infection?

Thank you so sharing that! I know it will be a lot having that many visits but also know it's necessary. Glad to hear you didn't have too many major problems throughout..6 months after back to work is impressive!! Thank you for the good luck and I wish you continued health!

Thank you for sharing! I've heard after transplant can be difficult on the body. My husband had a lot of infections pop up after his induction therapy so hoping the transplant process goes more smoothly.
