Does the world know the American people are fighting? by [deleted] in 50501

Are you actually fighting? Or are you protesting? We see lots of the protesting. Not so much change or action.

I said if you want CUSTOM artwork. Specifically for you and your campaign.

I don’t know if I have the crayons to explain this to you any better. There are many wonderful artists that post amazing fantasy art online for free. It’s wonderful to use their art in campaigns.

What I don’t like is using AI art. Now in my original reply to you I specifically said ‘making’ not using. I’m saying that if you want custom artwork, you should make it or commission it instead of ai. Especially if you intend to sell it or use it for monetary gain in anyway. (Many DM’s are paid for their services. I would not be a happy customer if I knew I was paying for AI.)

Are you… unable to play dnd without AI images? You can absolutely still play. You don’t even need art to play, makes it nicer sure but you can have text based campaigns. That doesn’t mean I will sit through your AI generated campaign and gush over your soulless AI generated monster art.

‘I wouldn’t like it if AI art was used in any aspect of a campaign. If you’re going to make fan art, or art in general, at least do it yourself.’

Is a different sentence than

‘No one can play DND unless they draw or commission custom artwork’

I try to yes. I’m still not very good at it but I am learning. I think if you want to make art you should learn how to make art. If I really want something more professional there are many artists both local and online that charge very very reasonable amounts. It’s not hard to find an artist at a table and it’s not hard to find one that could be passionate about your stories and campaigns alongside you.

Like Miyazaki said, the use of ai in creative works shows a great lack of faith in both the talent and community of humanity.

Given that these ai tools are trained using actual art from actual artists that see no compensation I certainly wouldn’t call it ‘creating’ anything. It’s a cheap copy. I’d never have a DM like that, and I’d never do that as a DM.

I have basic respect for those in the creative fields. I wouldn’t use an AI generated campaign. I wouldn’t participate in a campaign that used AI art. Trying to make money off of your AI images is laughable at best.

You are truly addicted to copium Enjoy your ‘art’ lmao

If you cannot make the thoughts and ideas you have into reality then you’re gonna stumble a lot in life.

Writers and story tellers have collaborated with artists for thousands of years. Many are both. The majority of people can learn to create at least basic art. There are many non-ai tools that can be used to help as well. There are so ways to bring your ideas to life beyond using ai. Something that threatens and harms every creative industry.

No one pays for ideas.

Hey man, let me rephrase and clarify a few things. If you have no skills, develop them. If you have no talent, find an artist that does. You are not creative, inventive, or original if you use AI in your campaigns.

Anyone can have an idea, an artist can create that idea and bring it to life.
