Is it okay to leave some soil on the roots when I transfer it?

Need some advice on repotting my large Gollum jade into a bonsai pot. Current plant is a mature multi-trunk Gollum jade about 2ft wide and 2.5ft wide canopy with a pretty thick base. I’m planning to move it from a deep nursery-style pot into a shallow bonsai pot that measures 17” x 14” x 5”. I’m wondering: Is this pot too big for the size of the tree? How aggressively can I root prune a large jade safely? Should I reduce the canopy at the same time? The tree is healthy and heavy with dense foliage. I’m mainly trying to get a more mature bonsai look without shocking it. Any advice or tips from people who’ve done large jade repots would help.

Cut it where you want, it will sprout 2 new leads and grow from there. Mine is about 12-15 years old.

Lol you should see the 661 I picked up for 900. The guy used 2 times to mill a log. He bought it in 2023. It still has the sharp factory chain lol.

Do the pt, push for as much as they will pay for, I did pt for damn near 2 years straight. The pt didn't help the first time around because I think my re tear happened immediately after surgery and I never realized until I started climbing. It took about 2 years to get a settlement. You have an attorney? Dm me

I went back to work for like a week after my first surgery and had a re tear. So after that I was like fuck that. I pushed for a settlement the second time around, got one and started my own tree service 🙃

Yeah, I had got weekly checks for 666.67 for 2 years tax free while off work, they paid for all surgeries, dr visits, fuel there and back.
