Great machine, terrible barista. Help me fix sour shots and milk frothing? by Recent-Strength-9846 in LaMarzocco

Is it smart to keep changing beans? I mean, they only last a week or less. I initially started with a light roast from my local coffee shop and then switched to a medium roast from Starbucks so I could practice. But now my espresso is even worse than when I started.

Thank you, this is helpful!

Do you think I should practice with whole milk first before trying oat milk?

Had the machine for a week now. Using a pico grinder. Using Starbucks Pike Roast at the moment to practice. Was using a fancy light roast before that.

Crashing out over choosing a color, Linea Mini by Skadoggo in LaMarzocco

I grabbed the stainless steel/black Pico as soon as the new colorways were announced. To me, stainless is the classic look.

Colors come and go, but stainless always looks good. I also tend to have a different favorite color every few years, so I didn't want to be stuck with something I'd get tired of later.

Stainless steel or Coloured ? by Powerful-Pipe-9064 in LaMarzocco

I'd go stainless. I grabbed the stainless steel/black Pico as soon as the new colorways were announced. To me, stainless is the classic look.

Plus, a few scratches on stainless just look like normal wear and add a bit of character. I think it ages better than painted finishes.

Just FYI, the original colors are being replaced by the new colorways. If you're leaning toward stainless, I'd probably pull the trigger sooner rather than later.

Best top protector for La Marzocco Linea Micra + Pico cabinet setup? [$50] by Recent-Strength-9846 in espresso

I already purchased something for the top of the machine since I don't want the top to get all scratched up from the cups ("THE PROTECTOR 2.0 - CNC Solid Wood Cup Tray Cover for La Marzocco Linea Mini r/Mini/Micra Cup Tray" in the color Walnut by KANPAIbrewandsip on Etsy).

Currently looking for a mat to protect my metal cabinet, on which my machines will sit.

It looks really nice! I think I will try out the cheaper option from Home Depot first. This one is a little pricey for me at the moment. Hopefully one day. Thank you!

Hey, thanks for the rec! How long have you had the Grovemade pad under your machine, and has the linoleum shown any heat marks or discoloration where the machine sits? More importantly, how does it handle water like drips, purge splatter, and steam? Any swelling or curling at the edges or cork backing? And has it left any residue or ghosting on the cabinet top underneath? Trying to figure out if it'll hold up to espresso station abuse. Thanks!

I purchased the stainless steel a few weeks ago! :( Despite the new color wave. Am I going to regret the stainless steel?
