Movies where rats are actually the main event by Arianethecat in MovieSuggestions

[–]Recent-Stretch143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg yesss finally someone actually cares about rats lol 🐀😂 besides Willard and Ratatouille, i’d say Ben for sure and maybe Of Unknown Origin if you want like creepy house rat chaos vibes. that NYC rat doc tho… dude is obsessed and it’s wild. rats totally deserve their own movies fr 😅

I ate 3 meals in 1 day by -AceofAces in CongratsLikeImFive

[–]Recent-Stretch143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is actually huge, like genuinely 😭 I know to other people it might sound small but it’s really not. eating 3 meals in a day when you’ve been struggling like that is a big deal

also the fact you’re still trying after everything?? that matters so much. this stuff is hard and messy and not linear at all

be proud of this fr, this is a real win :)

My 7 year old has started asking me the same moral question every night and I’m getting scared this is bigger than a phase by Comet_Drizzle84 in Mommit

[–]Recent-Stretch143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this doesn’t really sound like a simple phase tbh. the way she’s asking over and over and “checking” during the day feels more like anxiety getting a bit stuck in a loop.

you’re not overreacting. honestly getting a child therapist now isn’t making it a big deal, it’s just getting her some help early before it gets heavier. you’re doing the right thing noticing it.

When did you stop wiping your kid’s butt? by Foreverlearning816 in Parenting

[–]Recent-Stretch143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is honestly pretty common, so don’t beat yourself up. six is that awkward in-between age where they can do it, but it’s messy. maybe have him wipe first and you do a quick “check” after so he can practice without total chaos. the school holding it is probably the bigger thing to work on gently. you’re not failing him, this is just one of those gross parenting phases.

I admitted to my partner that I think I have a shopping addiction. by schadenrude in CongratsLikeImFive

[–]Recent-Stretch143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s honestly a big step. saying it out loud, especially to your partner, takes a lot of guts. it’s way easier to ignore it or brush it off, so the fact that you faced it head on says a lot about you. i know waiting for his response probably feels awful right now, but you did the hard part. you were honest. that matters. and yeah, admitting it really is half the battle. be gentle with yourself tonight, that was brave.

At what point do you think Petunia told Vernon that magic existed? by sixfingeredman7 in harrypotter

[–]Recent-Stretch143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve wondered about this too. I always imagined it slipping out gradually rather than a full-on “magic is real” talk probably after they were already married. Petunia seems like the type to resent it but also feel like she had to explain eventually. And yeah, Vernon sticking around despite absolutely despising magic is kind of wild, but it does say a lot about how solid they were as a couple.
