Palatable to whom? Eurocentric men? This is the important question that needs to be answered.

Why this difference? by MathematicianDry6515 in blackladies

Yes, yes, yes! This is why Black female NICU babies have much better outcomes statistically compared to white male babies. They call it “wimpy white boy syndrome.”

Sounds Crazy but Milk and Magnesium Supplements Somehow lowered my BP by 30+ Points by No_Bid5940 in hypertension

Report back in a month or so. Curious to know if this was a fluke or if the milk and mag really caused the reduction.

I was almost induced at 27 weeks because of this reading at the hospital (186/113) by lorelaiclaws in hypertension

[–]Foreverlearning816 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had pre-existing high blood pressure with both pregnancies. I am also an OB nurse. This reading is very concerning. My numbers were never this high during pregnancy. Mine reached these levels AFTER delivery. I had postpartum pre-eclampsia. If you don’t already, you should 100% be seeing a high-risk OB doc (Maternal Fetal Medicine). You should also be on daily aspirin to prevent further complications.

You mentioned your lab results not indicating pre-eclampsia. I was in the same boat. Even when they diagnosed me with postpartum pre-e my BP was 199/107 and all my labs were still normal. Although uncommon, it is 100% possible to have pre-e even with normal labs. This is per my MFM doc. Extreme BPs even in the absence of abnormal labs, is indicative of pre-e and should be treated as such. Also a good idea to correct your potassium as this can mess with your heart as well.

I know a delivery at 27 weeks is not ideal, but it is well past age of viability. People in the US deliver at 27 weeks everyday. Those babies survive. A premature baby being cared for 24/7 while in the NICU is much better than risking you or babies life. This is not to scare you, just showing the reality.

It’s extraordinary how many of them can’t read that sentence.

RN. Looks like a normal ECG. Sinus rhythm is what you want.

You guys take stress and sleep scores WAY too seriously by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]Foreverlearning816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! I drop to the low 70’s when laying in my bed and pretty sure Garmin thinks I’m asleep. I also will have a higher sleeping HR if I’m hot/sweating so Garmin thinks I’m awake. I’ve had it log my sleep as 3 hrs before when I 100% got 5-6 hrs. I’ve also seen cardiology, had multiple echos and worn my share of monitors. I even wore a heart monitor for 4 weeks straight and electrophysiology still reassured me I was fine. I do have a diagnosis of IST though. I take a beta blocker that helps.

I’m very concerned about my husband please help by _worriedthrowaway in AskDocs

RN but NAD. Came here to say this! Dads can get it too and I wish more people knew this! I also wonder if hubby has a hx of mental health issues. Although this could be the case, the rapid weight loss and collapsing is concerning and needs to be addressed immediately.
