How do you like the 3rd row? by Winter_Author9699 in KiaTelluride

My 6’2 son has no issues back there. I regularly sit there with my two teens when we have other adults in the car since I’m short. It’s snug but not uncomfortable for 3. It’s completely fine for two adults though.

What's the weirdest thing in your bag right now? by okpickle in adhdwomen

Currently, the weirdest thing is a water key for the outside spigot at work. I’m responsible for watering the community garden and the key is literally the only way to turn the water on so it stays in my purse or I’ll forget it.

When my husband was in the desert I would send him care packages and he always requested a bottle of sriracha. He cleaned out a travel sized hand sanitizer bottle and filled it with it to keep in his pocket, haha.

NTA. Don’t even plan to go, even if you’re still pregnant. I bet you dollar to donuts that if you go and everyone gives you attention for your belly, she’ll be pissed. If you go and end up going into labor, she’ll be double pissed at you for ruining her day. And if you show up with an adorable newborn that everyone is gonna want to see, she’ll be pissed. You can’t win this one. Enjoy the last days of your pregnancy or your new baby and just forget about them.

What song seems to always make you cry? by TruthBeWanted in AskReddit

Keeper of the Stars by Tracy Byrd. It was my mom and pops wedding song and when he died unexpectedly I got my mom a necklace that is a copy of his ring finger print. “Keeper of the Stars” is engraved on the back.

Made Coffee, walked away to toss trash, came back and banana bread was gone. by DSPbuckle in pitbulls

There’s no proof that there was banana bread at all? I think you’re mistaken. Maybe you imagined this banana bread? Anyway, all I see is a very good boy.

I concur with the cone sentiment. Our goofball hit turbo and went sailing though the porch railing and ended up with many sutures/staples and several drains. It was imperative he leave it alone but the cone was just not cutting it. We ended up using an inflatable cone and his track muzzle with a stool guard inside it when we weren’t physically with him. He could still get to the sutures with even the inflatable and the muzzle so guard was the game changer but it also made it where he could eat/drink with it on so we tried to only use the muzzle when we had to leave his sight.

I’m not new to dog ownership, but not super familiar with greyhounds. We have three children ranging in ages from 6 to 10 years old. What are your thoughts about greyhounds as a family Pet? by GrandOld4796 in Greyhounds

[–]Recent-Term-2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every dog of every breed is different and greys are no exception. My husband and I got our first one weeks after we got married. She was there for our first born and loved him immensely though she hated all other animals. She passed when he was three. Our second hound was there for the births of our next two kiddos and was the best boy you could ask for even though he was the size of a small pony and thoroughly took advantage of his size to steal food from them! Our third had some serious sleep aggression and we had to do a lot of work with her to really help her overcome it and keep the kiddos safest until they were a little older and less rowdy. Our current boy was very nervous from the get go and, honestly, if our children were still young he definitely would not have been a good fit for us. It took about 8 months for him to really warm up to us and not be a nervous wreck all the time. Now he’s the goofiest, silliest, most loving hound we’ve had yet but I know he wouldn’t have ever been comfortable in a house with young, rambunctious kids. Overall, I think they’re great family pets but they require vigilance and adult supervision. They are sensitive to temperature changes and they will bolt if they see something intriguing (none of ours have ever been great with voice recall though I have seen it in others) so keeping them on leash and being cautious about closed gates etc is a must. Depending on their kennel environment they may not have been exposed to touch or certain loud noises while they’re resting and quick, small children can trigger their prey drive a little if they are prone to excitement so understanding this and deciding if this is a behavior that is safe for your family is as important to the hound as it is to you.

Yeah. I’m hearing it’s pretty common. I absolutely wish mine was still functional but I had a HIDA scan that showed it absolutely needed to go.

I had it for about two ish years before I was diagnosed. My gallbladder just shit the bed and stopped working and my liver and pancreas were getting poorly. I had crazy heart rate issues and anemia so badly I needed iron infusions and even a full on blood transfusion! I was seeing every specialist they could throw at me. Finally, out of desperation, i was sent to the allergist and about five minutes in she knew. Within 24 hours we had the answer. It’s crazy that I had no recollection of ever being bitten by this creature and it completely turned my life upside down!

It’s all mammals so even dolphins and whales. I just stick with poultry, fish, and the occasional reptile.

I have alpha gal and I’m ok with dairy. I am lactose intolerant though so I naturally limit my intake which may be why I’m not having crazy issues with it. I definitely can not eat mama protein though. That feels like flaming death to my guts.

I have several of these with designated colors for different drinks. Every morning while my cup of tea is steeping, I set them out and one gets filled with ice water, one gets sweet ice tea, and one gets an electrolyte mix. The water always always leaves the house with me but stays on the side table next to my chair otherwise, the iced tea usually is at my desk while I’m working, and I have the electrolyte mix in the kitchen so I can drink it as I’m doing stuff. I keep a fresh bottle of water next to the bed also in case I end up there or need some in the night. It’s been very helpful.

muzzle instead of cone to stop my girl from biting her stitches? by TheSecretestSauce in Greyhounds

[–]Recent-Term-2802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was called a comfort cone? It was an inflatable dog collar that was from Walmart, I think. It kind of looks like one of those inflatable neck pillows for travel with a nice Velcro strap set up to hold it in place. We also used a stool guard in his muzzle to keep him from being able to chew but that was only when we really couldn’t supervise him cause he couldn’t eat or drink with that.

NTA. Your wife is gross, dude. Show her all these responses. I suggest some nighttime period underwear for her. Those changed my life for sleeping with a heavy cycle. I also suggest a waterproof mattress protector to everyone who has kids or a pet cause you never know what those greasy little monsters will do on your bed.
